Sun Moon Lake is the most famous scenic spot in Taiwan Province Island. It is located in the west of Touxian County, the second largest lake in Taiwan Province Province and the largest natural county in Hunan Province, on the hill between Yushan Mountain and Alishan Mountain. The lakeshore has a circumference of 35 kilometers, an area of 7.7_, and a water depth of 20 to 30 meters. The water surface is slightly larger than the famous lake-Hangzhou West Lake, but the water depth is more than 10 times that of the West Lake. Sun Moon Lake was originally two independent lakes. Later, due to the need of power generation, a dam was built downstream, and the water level rose, so the two lakes merged into one.
Around Sun Moon Lake, there are pavilions and ancient temples. There are still some Tang priest Xuanzang's remains in Xuanzang Temple halfway up the mountain. The local climate is pleasant all year round. The average temperature in winter is above 15℃, while the average temperature in summer and July is only about 22℃. This is a summer resort.
