In the life of ancient residents in China, no matter weddings, funerals or home business, it is inseparable from the use of geomantic omen. From emperors and generals to ordinary people, they are full of respect for Feng Shui. In the history of China, the location of the capital, the construction of the imperial mausoleum, the knighthood ceremony and the worship ceremony were all inseparable from Feng Shui. Therefore, the imperial courts in all previous dynasties set up specialized geomantic institutions and arranged for the geomantic master Sitian to supervise them. They are not only responsible for checking the geomantic omen of various buildings and tombs for the imperial court and the royal family, but also for managing astronomical calendars and agricultural meteorology. They were really elites who knew astronomy and geography at that time.
It is these feng shui masters who are proficient in astronomical and geographical surveying and mapping who have gathered their life skills in one book and left many classic feng shui works that have been passed down through the ages. After comparing and refining many classic Feng Shui works, I got rid of the difficulty and obscurity. On the basis of combing the development course and schools of geomantic omen in China, this paper selects 12 classic geomantic omen works, selects their essence for original interpretation, and appropriately matches the examples of geomantic omen application in modern life to achieve the purpose of making the past serve the present and simplifying the complex.
These twelve classics are: 1. Yang Zhai, known as the first book of geomantic omen in China, is said to have written The Classic of the Yellow Emperor's House, which mainly talks about the laws of distinguishing yin and yang houses and the geomantic laws of distinguishing good from evil, renovating houses and building houses. 2. The Book of Changes, known as the cornerstone of China's geomantic omen, mainly analyzes the mysteries of heaven, earth and personnel displayed by Taiji Bagua and Bagua's sixty-four hexagrams; 3. The Book of Burial by Guo Pu in Jin Dynasty is the first open source Feng Shui book in China. This paper analyzes the concept of geomantic omen in detail for the first time, tells the method of choosing a good burial place by distinguishing vitality, seeking dragons, seeking sand, Xiangtu, tasting water and acupoints, and puts forward the concept of "five no burial places". 4. Yang Junsong's "Shake the Dragon Classic" in the Tang Dynasty is a book devoted to the Nine Heavenly Peaks, which analyzes in detail the mystery of the peeling of the Nine Heavenly Peaks and its good and bad luck; 5. Xue Xin Fu written by Bu Yingtian in Tang Dynasty is a book that discusses the five elements and the exchange of good and bad luck in detail; 6. In the Tang Dynasty, Huang Miaoying's "Boshan Pian" specifically described various forms of mountain dragons and their good and bad luck.
When it comes to Zhouyi, many people's first feeling is mystery. Yes, Zhouyi is indeed the oldest and most mysterious book in China. This book has a history of more than 3000 years, and it has been shrouded in a mysterious atmosphere since it was written. Folk say it's a heavenly book, which contains the codes of heaven and earth, and even the codes of the divine world and the ghost world. The official and academic circles regard it as the first of the group classics, and it is the most important classic among the thirteen Confucian classics. There are many myths and legends around it. Almost all dynasty changes in the history of China are related to this book. Because it is said that all the strategists and generals who helped the emperor seize the country and rule the world are proficient in Zhouyi. Jiang Ziya, Sean, Zhuge Liang, Xu Maogong and Liu Bowen, who can give orders, spread beans and turn soldiers into soldiers, all rely on this book, and only after reading the Book of Changes can they have super powers. In the eyes of ordinary people, it seems that if you understand this book, you can know the first 800 and the last 800, and you can predict the good and bad fortune of the world with your own intelligence.
Although the legend is mysterious, it makes sense. Because Zhouyi is the source of China culture, everything we know, including Confucianism, Taoism, Chinese medicine, the art of war and so on, comes from Zhouyi. For example, Jiang Ziya is very familiar with the art of war. He used the Yin and Yang theory of the Book of Changes in that art of war, so Jiang Ziya's art of war is called Yin Fu Jing. Sean met Huang Shigong, who handed him a gobbledygook called Daoism. It was with this Daoism that Sean helped Liu Bang win many battles, wiped out the Qin Dynasty and Xiang Yu, and established the Han Dynasty. Daoism is also developed from Zhouyi. Zhuge Liang is good at gossip, which is the direct application of Zhouyi. The principle of Zhouyi is "easy to have Tai Chi, that is, two instruments give birth to four images, and four images give birth to gossip, which determines good or bad luck and leads to great cause". These two instruments are yin and yang. The four elephants are Shaoyin Shaoyang and Laoyin Lao Yang. Gossip is just to get rid of the earthquake. And Liu Bowen's "TuiBei Diagram". Each diagram is a hexagram. Combine hexagrams with diagrams to predict what will happen in the future. These predictions are not allowed to be evaluated, but these legends have indeed had a very great influence in history.
There is an old saying: you can't be a leader if you don't understand Zhouyi. You can't be a good doctor if you don't understand Zhouyi. If you want to be a good general, a good strategist and a good prime minister, you must understand the truth of Zhouyi and use the method of Zhouyi. If you want to be a good doctor, you must understand Zhouyi, because Huangdi Neijing, the oldest classic of Chinese medicine, is written according to the principles of Zhouyi. Traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes restraint, observation, listening, questioning and dialectical treatment of yin and yang and five elements. These are inseparable from Zhouyi. Therefore, only by understanding Zhouyi can we understand Huangdi Neijing, Difficult Classic and Treatise on Febrile Diseases, and we can also understand the ins and outs of traditional Chinese medicine from the root.
China's geomantic theory is inherited from the Book of Changes. Feng Shui used to be called Feng Shui Science, but now it is called Environmental Science. What does Kanyu mean? It is to investigate the geographical situation, find a suitable living environment according to the yin-yang and five elements of geography, and analyze and decide the construction of cities and houses. How clever and wise our ancestors were. It was recorded in writing as early as 3000 years ago. The Book of Songs Gong Liu said that when Gong Liu, the ancestor of the Zhou Dynasty, chose his residence for his clan tribe, he "looked at Nangang, looked at its yin and yang, looked at its flowing spring, and lived in the wilderness of Wangjing Division, everywhere." Climbing the south hill, observing the direction of Yin and Yang and flowing water, we found that Shi Jing is a place with fertile soil and abundant rain, so we set up a new home here. So there was the development of the Zhou family. Before Suzaku, after Xuanwu, Zuo Qinglong, and White Tiger. When the ancients chose the living environment, they paid attention to the back of the mountain and the water, and lived near the water, which is consistent with the living concept of modern people. The three principles of geomantic omen: the unity of heaven and earth, the harmony of yin and yang, and the five elements, represent the highest concept of living environment. Westerners didn't realize the greatness and sacredness of these three principles until recently, so they learned from our ancestors. At present, universities in the United States and many European countries have specially set up Feng Shui majors. What we study and study is China's traditional Feng Shui theory. This shows how great the Book of Changes is and how it is worth studying and studying. It can also be seen that our leaders have extraordinary vision and organize everyone to know the book Zhouyi, so as to learn and understand the knowledge and information conveyed by the book Zhouyi. There is no doubt that all of you here will get some enlightenment and lessons after learning this book, and they will all benefit endlessly.
Why do you say that? Because the use of Zhouyi is not only what I said above, but also only a small part. Its greater role is to help everyone cultivate virtue, open wisdom, increase talents, help everyone develop a good attitude and a correct attitude towards life, and strive for a happy life.
In addition to those great philosophical principles, Zhouyi is more about the knowledge of being a man and doing things that ordinary people can see and need. Including how to do good deeds in Xiu De, how to get along with people, how to be an official, how to start a business, how to obey the law, how to honor parents, how to have a blind date between husband and wife, how to raise children and so on. These are closely related to each of us and can make each of us learn from them. This is why it is so useful.
