Brief description: Cenxi City, Guangxi Province is located in the southeast of Guangxi, at 110°3′-111°22′ east longitude, 22°37′-23°13′ north latitude, adjacent to Luoding City, Guangdong Province in the east and Luoding City, Guangdong Province in the south. Xinyi City, Guangdong Province, connects Yulin City to the west and Wuzhou City to the north. Natural environment: Cenxi is a hilly mountainous area in the eastern section of the northern foothills of Yunkai Mountain. The terrain is high in the southeast and low in the northwest. The mountains within the territory extend from the Yunkai Mountains and Gouluo Mountains. The top of Tuzhu in the southwest is the highest peak in the territory, with an altitude of 1,211 meters. The lowest point is the Dumu River Valley in the northwest, with an altitude of 50 meters. The main rivers, Huanghua River and Yichang River, flow from southeast to northwest respectively, with a mileage of 111.5 kilometers and 123 kilometers respectively. Historical evolution: In the early Han Dynasty, Zhao Tuo established the Nanyue Kingdom, and today the city belongs to the Nanyue Kingdom. After the pacification of Nanyue in the sixth year of Yuanding of the Han Dynasty (111 BC), Mengling County of Cangwu County was established. Most of the city today is within the borders of Mengling County. In the fifth year of the Liang Dynasty (524) in the Southern Dynasties, Yongye County was established in most areas of today's city. The county seat was in Jiuxian Village, Jinzhu Town. In the third year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty (583 AD), the county was abolished and changed to Yongye County. The county was once abolished and restored in the 16th year of Kaihuang's reign (596). In the fifth year of Wude (622), Yongye County was used to establish Nanyi Prefecture, and three counties were divided into Anyi (in the east of today's city), Longcheng (in the middle of today's city), and Yicheng (in the west of today's city). The state government is located in Longcheng County. In the second year of Tang Zhide (757), Anyi County was changed to Yongye County, and Longcheng County was changed to Cenxi County, which was the beginning of the name of Cenxi County. In the sixth year of Kaibao in the Song Dynasty (973), the three counties of the original Nanyi Prefecture were merged into Cenxi County. In the subsequent dynasties, except for changes in affiliation, the name and establishment of Cenxi County remained basically unchanged. In 1951 and 1953, Nuodong and Sanbao districts, which were originally part of Teng County, were successively placed under Cenxi. In September 1995, Cenxi was removed from the county and established as a city (county-level city), still under the Wuzhou area. In April 1997, it was transferred to Wuzhou City. By 2002, the Municipal People's Government was stationed in Cencheng Town. It governs 16 towns including Cancheng, Nuodong, Chengjian, Guiyi, Jinzhu, Daye, Limu, Dalong, Shuiwen, Jitai, Nandu, Tanrong, Malu, Zhangmu, Sanbao, Botang and Anping 1 township.

Natural resources: Cenxi City contains gold, silver, lead, zinc, titanium and other metal minerals, as well as various non-metallic minerals such as phosphorite, fluorite, zeolite, rare earth, perlite, granite and so on. Among them, China Cenxi red granite has excellent texture and reserves of 2.1 billion cubic meters. It is the largest granite production base in the country and is known as the "Granite Capital". The city has 206,700 hectares of mountainous land suitable for forestation, with a forest coverage rate of 70.9% and a forest stock volume of 5.08 million cubic meters. It has built six foreign exchange-earning forestry production bases for rosin, cinnamon, star anise, bamboo, fruit, and firewood. With a total area of ??173,500 hectares, it is the only "National Economic Forest Construction Demonstration County and City" in Guangxi, with a water conservancy resource reserve rate of 130,000 kilowatts.
