First, the preliminary preparation of equipment
A fish tank must first have equipment, including the following items. Let's summarize it with a fresh water tank as the ontology.
1, filtration system, can be up filtration, bottom tank filtration, side filtration, reverse filtration, these introduction forums are countless, you can refer to them and make your own most suitable filtration system.
2. Filter materials. There are many kinds of filter materials, but only a few are commonly used, such as filter cotton or biochemical cotton, biochemical ball, mushroom house, volcanic rock, medical stone, coral stone, activated carbon, glass ring and so on.
Filter cotton is different from biochemical cotton, which is more delicate. Generally speaking, JBL's 250g pure wool is good. Biochemical cotton is mainly used for biochemical filtration and physical filtration, which is mainly beneficial to the growth of nitrifying bacteria (hey, I don't use biochemical cotton anymore, I use biochemical felt, also called rattan cotton, which is stronger than biochemical cotton 100 times).
There are also two kinds of biochemical balls, one with cotton and the other without cotton, but now it is not common to see those without cotton. Biochemical balls are usually placed in overflow tanks, because total immersion will greatly reduce the use effect.
Activated carbon is not recommended, because it will harm nitrifying bacteria, and it is really the killer of nitrifying bacteria. The taste of the main absorption water is still good. Long-term use is not recommended, and short-term use is not a big problem. The difference between a bacteria house and a biochemical ball is that one is square and the other is round. ...
Glass ring is the most commonly used and used filter material. This kind of filter material has excellent water permeability, and the whole filter material is densely covered with small holes, which is very suitable for the growth of nitrifying bacteria. Generally, as long as there are filter cotton and glass rings in the filtration system, good water quality can be achieved, but remember that the filter material must reach more than %5 of the total water to play an effective role.
3. Auxiliary equipment
Auxiliary equipment is mainly oxygen pump, generally double-headed, lighting system, temperature control system. The technical content inside is not high, so I won't introduce it in detail, but the thermostat must be of high quality, because you don't want to see the heating rod explode and cause your beloved fish to die.
Step 4 Buy bacteria
Nitrifying bacteria are usually added to speed up the opening of cans. Here, I strongly recommend nitrifying bacteria with peculiar smell, because such products are hardly used when opening cans. If the water quality has been stabilized, after entering the fish, this nitrifying bacteria is simply a master of mixing water, which is harmful and useless. Here we recommend two kinds of digestive bacteria, desiccant dry powder capsules and Morgan digestive bacteria dry powder. These two kinds of cost performance are not bad, especially Morgan nitrifying bacteria, which is simply a super essential medicine for fish farming and water. The dosage is small and the effect is great. I've been using it.
Second, the initial preparation for cylinder opening
1, disinfection (first day)
No matter whether it is new or old, the water needs disinfection. Compared with the old cans, the new cans have one more step, that is, they should be left for 7 days after being glued to remove the smell of the glass glue in the cans, and the old cans can be drained directly.
Many friends asked me how much potassium permanganate to put in the vat. In fact, it can be easily achieved by visual inspection. Fill the water tank with water, put all the filter materials into the water, and start to put potassium permanganate until the water in the whole water tank is purple. Okay, Parker. At this time, the concentration is just right. If you don't know what color purple is, then you can skip this paragraph. Soak for 1-2 hours. Clean the water in the tank, clean and scrub the whole tank with clear water, and repeatedly rinse the filter material with clear water until the potassium permanganate is completely washed away.
2. Bubble cylinder
After disinfection, we began to soak the water tank. The water in the tank is mainly used to take away the smell of glass glue and the smell in the new aquarium. It can also be used to test water to see if the water tank will leak after being completely soaked for 24 hours. In a word, this step is very important. Usually we fill the tank with water and soak it for 24 hours. After 24 hours, the water can officially start to rise ~
Third, a new beginning.
Install all the equipment in place, and the heating rod must be placed in the direction of water flow, so as to heat better, and the specific position can be determined. Remember, the filter material should be put in the filter equipment. Once, a friend of mine called me with a CF800 outer tube of 1 month and asked me why the water was still so dirty. As a result, I saw that the bucket was empty!
1, in-cylinder aeration (the next day)
A tank of fresh water came in. At this time, we will start to carry water. The first day the water rose, the filtration system was not turned on, and the heating system still had lights. Just turn on the oxygen pump, pump oxygen for 24 hours, watch the water in the tank churn, and wait slowly until the oxygen is sufficient and the oxygen pump is turned to the maximum.
2. Temperature and filtration start (day 3)
After a day of ventilation, the heating rod and the filtration system can be turned on. Remember that the water temperature should be adjusted to the optimum temperature for fish farming, and then it will not move. The specific problem and the W number of the heating rod depend on the size of the fish tank and the needs of the raised fish. The filter will not be turned off again. It is strongly recommended to filter continuously 7X24 hours a day.
3. Add digestive bacteria (day 4)
It's been 24 hours ~ the water temperature has come up. At this time, the water in the tank is chaotic, and we can add digestive bacteria.
There are three points to note when adding digestive bacteria.
A Digestive bacteria should be put into the filter tank, not directly poured into the main tank.
B The dry powder for digesting bacteria should be hydrated before use.
C digestive bacteria can survive only when the water temperature exceeds 20 degrees, and it must be below 20 degrees.
In addition, digestive bacteria belong to aerobic bacteria, so the oxygen pump cannot be interrupted to ensure that nitrifying bacteria have sufficient oxygen and improve the survival rate.
4. Here comes the fish ~ (Day 5)
Digestive bacteria need food, so what is its food?
Food sources are mainly fish feces and leftover feed. In addition, we should also observe whether the water quality can raise fish and detect the concentration of ammonia in the tank, so we should put the fish in the tank, and it is best to eat and pull. Let him toss in the water, but it is difficult for the fish to feel comfortable as soon as they enter the tank. At this time, the water will become turbid, so don't worry. This is a normal phenomenon.
Fourth, successfully open the cylinder.
We can wait and see, the water slowly becomes turbid, and then gradually becomes clear from turbidity. This process takes about 7- 10 days, during which the fish will die. Leave him alone and go to hell. Who calls this fish? Insist on changing one-fifth of the water for three days, replenish fresh water, and add digestive bacteria when changing water.
It takes 1 month until the water becomes extremely clear and the whole digestive bacteria tends to be stable, but after 10, the water becomes clear and you can put your favorite fish.
