There was a lot of smoke because of the fire.
Said by: Wang Erlie, a gifted scholar in Qing Dynasty, read widely and remembered deeply. When I was young, I went to Beijing to catch the exam. On the way, I met a woodcutter with a load of firewood. The woodcutter saw a young man going to Beijing to catch the exam, so he jokingly said to him, "Come on! I'll test you and see how you are! " With that, the woodcutter pointed to a load of firewood on his shoulder and said, "This firewood comes from the mountains. Please make a couplet. "
Wang Erlie looked at the woodcutter and thought that although the woodcutter was born to cut wood, he was also proficient in writing and pen and ink. Wang Erlie thought for a moment, then blurted out and replied, "There is a lot of smoke because of the fire." After hearing this, the woodcutter gave a thumbs-up and praised again and again: That's right! That's right!
