Fu Gaoying's Story-1

There is a Jade Emperor Mountain in Yanqing.

With the hosting of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, Yanqing has become a household name. Most people familiar with Yanqing know Badaling, Longqingxia, Baili Gallery, Four Seasons Flower Sea and Yongning Ancient City, but few people know that Yanqing also has a legendary Jade Emperor Mountain.

Yuhuangshan is located about 7 kilometers southeast of Yanqing City, east of Fugaoying Village, Dayushu Town. The Jade Emperor Temple was originally built on the mountain, but the ruins of the temple still exist. There are many legends about Huang Yu. According to the villagers in Fugaoying Village, there are two main versions. One theory is that Jade Emperor Mountain has five mountains, hence the name Wulong Mountain Scenic Resort Scenic Area. Liu Bowen, a military strategist of the Ming Dynasty, went north to check the geomantic omen. When he passed by the scenic spot of Wulong Mountain Scenic Resort, he saw an emperor statue here, where five emperors would be born. So the Jade Emperor Temple was built on the mountain to worship the Jade Emperor and suppress the Five Dragons. According to the introduction of the local elderly, during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, the incense of the Jade Emperor Temple was at its peak. During the first day, the fifteenth day, or the Spring Festival, people from Shili Baxiang came here to catch the temple fair, just like the Longqingxia Lantern Festival today. Unfortunately, during the Anti-Japanese War, the Jade Emperor Temple was destroyed by the war, and the Jade Emperor Mountain was silent from then on. Villagers nearby can often go for a walk in the mountains, but tourists from far away know nothing about Yuhuang Mountain.

There is also a beautiful legend that a jade dragon in the Heavenly Palace was arranged to patrol the Gui River. When I was patrolling the river, I met a beautiful girl, and I fell in love with her. I temporarily forgot the official business of patrolling the river, which led to the flooding of Yongding River and the suffering of the common people. The jade emperor was furious and wanted to cut off Yulong to appease the people. It was only under the protection of the ministers that it was laid down and turned into this mountain, guarding the Gui River day and night. In order to thank the Jade Emperor for his kindness, the local people built the Jade Emperor Pavilion on the mountain, and the Jade Emperor received the human incense, which ensured the good weather and safety here every year. In addition, there is a story about Han Xin's mother buried on the Jade Emperor Mountain, which is widely circulated in the local area. According to the old man in the village, there is a sarcophagus on the hillside in the southeast of Huang Yu. I don't know the age, but it has been passed down from generation to generation as the coffin of Han Xin's mother. For a long time, people often come here to burn incense. Now, in order to prevent fire, no one burns incense.

The main peak of Huangyushan is more than 500 meters above sea level. You can watch Yanqing City from a close distance, looking north at Guanting Reservoir, Badaling Great Wall, Songshan Mountain and Haituo Mountain, and overlooking the Guihe River, the mother river of Yanqing. The clear river flows westward from the foot of Huang Yu Mountain. Fugaoying Village, located on the northwest side of the hillside, has a walk to the top of the mountain, and there is a 500-mu peony garden on the north side of Huangyushan. Every May, the flowers in the garden are in full bloom, and tourists are weaving like a bright gem embedded in the beautiful Huangyu Mountain. Blue sky and white clouds, mountains and rivers set each other off, birds singing and flowers fragrant, illuminating the land of Guichuan. (According to villagers' stories)
