In scenic tourist attractions, we can often see small signs with "Old and Valuable Trees" hanging on some trees. So, which trees can be called ancient and valuable trees? The age of the tree ranges from 100 to 299 years.
Rare and precious trees include cherry blossoms, boxwood trees, lindens, wintersweets, magnolias, eucalyptus, costus, tallow trees and other tree species. Trees over 20 years old, all kinds of evergreen trees and ginkgo, metasequoia, silver fir and other trees with a diameter at breast height of more than 25 cm, gift trees and friendship trees presented by foreign friends, trees with commemorative significance and scientific research value, regardless of size. Protect. Among them, those planted by heads of state personally are designated as first-level protection, and others are designated as second-level protection.
Of course, different countries have very different regulations on the age of ancient trees. In some countries in Western Europe and North America, trees over 50 years old are designated as ancient trees, and ancient trees over 100 years old are regarded as national treasures.

As early as the Tang Dynasty poet Du Fu described it in his poem "Nanguo Temple on the Top of the Mountain", "The old tree can be found in the empty courtyard, and the clear canal can be passed down in one town." Du Fu praised it as "The old tree "; it is also called "ancient cypress" in the last two sentences of Li Bai's unnamed five-character rhymed poem "There are three or five old monks, and the ancient cypress is thousands of years old." Tianshui City is a city with many ancient trees in my country. There are more than 230 ancient trees that are over a thousand years old, ranking second in the country. It is a plant left over from the Tertiary Period of the Cenozoic Era 10 million years ago. During the Ice Age of the Quaternary Period, the Davidia involucrata in most areas became extinct. Some areas in southern my country have survived and become today's "living fossils" in the plant world. They are unique to China and were named China's "Pigeon Tree" by Western botanists because their flower shape resembles a flying white dove.

There is a popular saying among the Uyghur people called "Three Thousand Years of Populus euphratica": "If you are alive, you will not die for a thousand years; if you die, you will not fall for a thousand years; if you fall, you will be immortal for a thousand years."
