The century-old temple in Shaanxi can bypass floods. Experts can't explain it, but it was cracked by three students. What's the reason?

Our country has been very particular about house construction since ancient times. When building houses, the ancients would combine local landscape geography, Feng Shui pattern, house orientation and other factors to suit the situation. The architectural style has also changed through dynasties. changes to varying degrees. China has a very long history of architecture, and many buildings have gone through many vicissitudes of life and still stand tall. In Shaanxi, there is such a century-old temple, which can bypass floods. Experts could not explain this phenomenon, but unexpectedly it was cracked by three students.

In ancient times, people lived by water. Rivers provided rich products, but they also brought certain disasters. Floods were also common in history. In flood-prone areas, Dragon King Temple and City God Temple are usually built to protect the local area from disasters. There is a City God's Temple built on the sandbank of the Chang'an River in Ningshan County, Shaanxi Province. According to historical records, this City God's Temple was built during the Qianlong period and has a history of hundreds of years. Due to its special geographical location, this county has abundant precipitation every year. Historically, the City God's Temple has a history of hundreds of years. There were even multiple floods. A large number of houses along the river were washed away, but the City God's Temple on the sandbank was still intact. When the floodwater encountered this sandbar, it would automatically split into two streams, avoid the City God's Temple, take a detour, and continue to rush forward.

Chenghuang Temple has experienced floods, but has never suffered any disasters. This is also widely spread in the local area. Elderly people often say that this Chenghuang Temple is protected by a golden duck. It is said that this pair of golden ducks has existed since ancient times. Some criminals once tried to steal it for their own use, but the theft failed. The pair of golden ducks seemed to be manifested by gods. They hid at the bottom of the City God's Temple and protected it every day. When there was a flood, the Temple of the City God allowed the flood to detour because of the golden duck. Ordinary people have always believed that this place is a geomantic treasure, and some people come to worship it to ensure peace.

Although the legend of the Golden Duck is not scientific, experts have been unable to give a clear explanation after conducting a series of studies. But what everyone didn't expect was that the century-old mystery of the City God's Temple was solved by three middle school students.

In 2006, three local middle school students were very curious about the legend of the City God's Temple, and they went to the City God's Temple together to conduct on-site surveys. They discovered that there was a very special boulder near the City God's Temple. This boulder was built in the shape of a boat. There were also piles of rocks placed around the boulder. These rocks played a certain role in diverting the water from upstream. When the flood flows through here, it is separated by the huge rocks, causing the water to rush down on both sides of the City God Temple. When it is diverted, because it is at the bend of the river, the west bank is higher than the east coast, so most of the water will flow towards West River channel inflows. Most of the local people live in the West River Channel. When the flood comes, the water rushes in the West River Channel. The City God Temple is in the middle of the water flow, so it will appear higher due to the visual difference.

The distribution of these stone groups has well protected the City God's Temple, and this excellent ancient building also fully reflects the superb skills and intelligent minds of ancient craftsmen. From this building, it is not difficult to see the architectural spirit of the ancients who took advantage of the situation and conformed to nature. There are many similar excellent ancient buildings in our country, which provide us with a lot of reference in modern projects.
