Chigang Pagoda is a municipal cultural relic protection unit in Guangzhou, and it is one of the more distinctive ancient pagodas in Ming Dynasty in Guangzhou. Chigang Pagoda, Pazhou Pagoda and Lotus Pagoda are also called Guangzhou Three Pagodas in Ming Dynasty. The tower was built in the forty-seventh year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (16 19). It is a pavilion-style blue brick tower with an octagonal plane and an octagonal shaft, with an inner chamber. In the Qing Dynasty, there were two ancient pagodas in Guangzhou, Henan Province, which once attracted much attention because of their towering into the sky. However, after the completion of Guang Zhouta, they were hidden by nearby high-rise buildings, so many Guangzhou citizens often ignored their existence. One of the two ancient pagodas is the "Hai 'ao Pagoda" located in Pazhou, namely "Pazhou Pagoda"; The other is the "Chigang Tower" in Chigang. Coincidentally, these two ancient pagodas were built in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty. In Pazhou, ground was broken in the 25th year of Wanli (A.D. 1597), while the construction of Chigang Tower was started in the 47th year of Wanli (A.D. 16 19). So before Guangzhou Chigang Tower, there was the Haiao Tower.
