Tour·Qingxi Tombs

The next day, Qing Xiling. This is a place suitable for cultural people to visit and travel. I feel ashamed that I belong to a culturally barren soil. Simple record.

There are 14 mausoleums in the Western Tombs of the Qing Dynasty, including the Tailing Mausoleum of Yongzheng, Changling Mausoleum of Jiaqing, Muling Mausoleum of Daoguang and Chongling Mausoleum of Guangxu, as well as 3 Hou Tombs. In addition, there are 14 more including the Mausoleum of King Huai, the Princess Mausoleum, the Elder Brother Mausoleum, and the Prince's Mausoleum. Its architectural form reflects the feudal rules and regulations. The emperor's mausoleum and the queen's mausoleum are covered with yellow glazed tiles; the concubines, princesses, and princes' bedrooms are covered with green glazed tiles or gray cloth tiles. The Qingxi Mausoleum covers an area of ??more than 800 square kilometers. There are more than a thousand palace buildings and more than a hundred ancient buildings and ancient sculptures in the mausoleum area.

We visited four places: Tailing, Chongling, Changxi Tomb, and Muling.

Tailing Mausoleum

The mausoleum of Emperor Yongzheng is a geomantic treasure. It is surrounded by various pine trees. What’s amazing is that there are many birds hovering around the mausoleum.

According to reports, the emperor’s palaces and mausoleums should also have various functions during his lifetime, so some key buildings are similar to those of the Forbidden City. The picture below is a view of Tailing from a distance. In the middle is Shinto, with the emperor on the left and the ministers on the right, so we face the door and enter from the right, that is, the left side of the door itself, which is the Junxingmen, and walk through the route that the emperor used to worship his ancestors nearly two or three hundred years ago. In ancient times, there was an order of superiority and inferiority, so you can't go wrong. The middle is the path taken by the gods, that is, the route they carry into the coffin.

Chongling

It is the mausoleum of Emperor Guangxu and Queen Longyu. Because the tomb was stolen in 1938, it has no preservation value, so the Underground Palace is open to the public. The four stone gates are very shocking. The constant temperature inside the underground palace is about 15℃, and the temperature outside is 30℃+, making it damp and cold inside the tomb.

The underground palace is open, and other places are still under repair.

Changxi Mausoleum

The one with the azimuth character is the Queen's Mausoleum. Changxi Mausoleum is the tomb of Queen Xiaoherui, the queen of Emperor Jiaqing. Why was the queen not buried with the emperor?

The answer is: If the queen dies before the emperor, she will be buried in the emperor's mausoleum first and buried with the emperor after his death; if the queen dies later than the emperor, a separate mausoleum will be built.

The special feature of Changxi Mausoleum is the echo stone. It is said that only the Temple of Heaven and Changxi Mausoleum have this, and the effect of the Changxi Mausoleum echo stone and echo wall is clearer than that of the Temple of Heaven.

On the far sides, a person is talking to one wall, and the other side can really hear it, and it is clear and distinguishable. This acoustic principle has been used by ancient people for hundreds of years, and we have to admire it.

Muling

The mausoleum of Emperor Daoguang.

The traces of time can be seen everywhere.

Danbi Stone

Emperor Daoguang advocated diligence and frugality, so compared with other emperors, the mausoleum was slightly smaller and many buildings were omitted. But this mausoleum cost the most money, because the east mausoleum was demolished and the west mausoleum was built. It was originally built in the Eastern Tomb of the Qing Dynasty. Later, water seeped into the mausoleum and soaked the coffin of Empress Xiaomucheng who had been buried. Emperor Daoguang was very angry and ordered another auspicious site to be found in Xiling. The mausoleum of Emperor Daoguang was moved to Xiling. The overall cost is the most expensive, and it is a luxury on the outside. The doors, windows and roof structures are all made of precious golden nanmu, which can be used with hot wax without painting. The wood is hard and does not need to be repaired to this day.

Daoguang believed that the flooding of the Baohuayu underground palace was caused by dragons drilling into their holes and spitting water from their mouths. If the dragons were invited to the sky, the dragons would compete for water in the sky and not spit water into the underground palace. Therefore, there are countless carved dragons in the building.

Feeling that time is ruthless! The traces of time can be seen everywhere in front of the buildings two or three hundred years ago.

It is the most ruthless imperial family. Emperor Guangxu, who was only 38 years old, was poisoned with arsenic by Cixi and died not long before Cixi.

I feel that human life is short. Regardless of emperors or ordinary people, they will inevitably suffer from birth, old age, illness and death. Cherish the present time; cherish the people I love around me and the people who love me.

On the way, we visited an inkstone factory in Yixian County and bought a small inkstone as a souvenir.

The largest inkstone, 15.8 meters long, is named the Chinese Dragon Soaring Inkstone. It is so huge that the camera cannot fit in the head-on view. Below are partial photos.

Full body shot from the side.

The Chlorophytum that spreads widely is happier than the pot at my house and grows gratifyingly.

Various sizes of inkstones.

Visiting the workshop, the master is rushing to work. There is dust and I am worried about the health of the master.

At the end of the second day’s trip, I reviewed my impressions of today on the way back in the car. I only recorded the above in rough words.
