Qian Shan Chongen Temple is a famous ancient temple in the history of China. According to the Records of Yixing County, "In the Tang Dynasty, there was a monk who traveled all over the country. One day, he came to the barren mountain and saw the surrounding peaks stacked like lotus flowers, and his seat was like a back, with beautiful scenery and pleasant scenery. The holy monk was amazed and knew that it was a treasure. When I was digging a capital construction site, I got a piece of jade, which looked like a bowl and sounded like a chime. Monks regard it as a treasure, so I named this mountain "Qing Mountain" and the temple "Qing Mountain Temple".

According to "Yixing Jingxi Continuation", Emperor Qianlong wrote the book "The First Ancestral Court in the World" and built a granite archway outside the mountain gate. The horizontal plaque of the memorial archway is the first imperial court in the world written by Emperor Qianlong, and two couplets are engraved on both sides of the stone pillars of the memorial archway. On one side, the Jingxi River crosses a thousand rocks and the sun and the moon pass like peaks. The other shore: Shengde is magnificent, the sun, the moon and the eternal glory, and the mountains and rivers are vast and beautiful for thousands of years.

158, the broad steps facing the rocks, from bottom to top, close to the mountain gate, are integrated, showing the majesty of the new posture of the ancient temple. This scale cost more than 20 million yuan, all of which were donated by eminent monks, great virtues, great protectors and top ten believers at home and abroad.

Legend: After Emperor Qianlong ascended the throne, he learned that his biological father, Chen Ge, lived in seclusion in the ancient Buddhist temple in the south of the Yangtze River, and decided to visit the famous Buddhist temple in the south of the Yangtze River, but he still could not find his father's whereabouts. After returning to the palace, his mother told him that his biological father had a mole the size of a pea on his little toe. Emperor Qianlong kept this matter in mind, so he took a large bundle of socks and cloth to Jiangnan. He crossed the vast bamboo sea and came to Qingshan Temple. He told his followers that all the monks in the temple would gather in the temple to accept the favor of the empire and asked them to take off their old socks and put on new ones on the spot. While the monk was changing socks, Qianlong finally recognized his father, but because of his status as emperor, it was not convenient to recognize him face to face, so he returned to the palace to report to his mother. Hearing this, my mother exulted and wanted to take my father to Beijing at once. In this way, Qianlong went to the south of the Yangtze River three times and arrived at Qingshan Temple, only to find that his father had passed away. At that time, Emperor Qianlong was so remorseful that he planted a cypress tree in front of the temple, and vowed: "If we met the day before yesterday, if it is really our biological father, the fallen cypress tree will definitely survive." On the spot, Yu Bi was awarded "the first ancestral court in the world". Since then, the Dojo of Chong 'en Temple in Qingshan has become the dragon of Buddhism in the south of the Yangtze River and a temple admired by the world. The upside-down cypress stands upright because of good luck.
