Nanping City, Fujian Province

Nanping has a long history and is one of the earliest developed areas in Fujian. As early as the Neolithic Age more than 4,000 years ago, there were aborigines living here. During the Eastern Han Dynasty, Nanping, Jian 'ou and Pucheng had established counties, which were 1800 years ago. Jianyang, Shaowu and Wuyishan counties also have a history of thousands of years. During the Sui, Tang, Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period, northern Fujian became the political, economic and cultural center of Fujian twice. In Song Dynasty, the economic and cultural development of northern Fujian once occupied a leading position in the whole province and even the whole country. For example, "Building Kiln" has become one of the eight famous kilns in China. In the heyday of mining and metallurgy, Fujian was the focus of the whole country, with northern Fujian as the center. For another example, the book engraving in Jianyang and Jian 'an (now Jian 'ou) counties accounts for more than one-third of the country, the printing industry in northern Fujian is very developed, and Jianyang Masha has become one of the three major printing centers in the country. In addition, the paper industry and tea are also quite developed.

Nanping has a profound cultural heritage, which is one of the birthplaces of Fujian culture and the cradle of Fujian-Vietnam culture. Known as "Fujian Zou Lu" and "South China Taoist Cave". There are outstanding people here, and there are many talented people in history. More than 2,000 scholars and 17 prime ministers were successively produced, such as Li Gang of Shaowu, Zhen Xiude of Pucheng and Yang Rong of Jian 'ou. Historical and cultural celebrities such as Zhu, Song Ci, Xin Qiji, Lu You, Cai Xiang, Liu Yong and Yan Yu all left footprints in northern Fujian. In particular, Zhu played the piano in northern Fujian for 50 years, so later generations have the saying that "Zhu was born in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Zhu was born in the Southern Song Dynasty, ancient culture in China, and Wuyi in Mount Tai".

Nanping is an important tourist area in the southeast of China. Northern Fujian is rich in tourism resources, which is one of the rare areas with dense tourism resources in East China. Magnificent strange mountains and strange waters, diverse biological resources, splendid history and culture, and colorful customs all constitute the unique tourism resources in northern Fujian. At present, there are 18 1 medium and high-grade tourist resource entities (Yanping Mangdang Mountain, Jianyang Kaoting Academy, Jian 'ou kiln site, Shaowu Tianchengyan Wanmulin, Khan Lee Temple, Heping Ancient Town, Wuyi Wu Jun, Shunchang Huayang Mountain, etc.). Wuyishan is one of the only four "world natural and cultural heritages" in China.
