American Pizza —— Experience Report of Toyota Asian Dragon 2.0

The car barks? Asian dragon, but it's actually an American car.

The first time I saw Asian Dragon was in 20 10, when I saw a military brand MCX 10 on the streets of Shanghai. However, I don't know what this old Toyota is, and even feel a little ugly. The situation is reversed. Unexpectedly, today, more than ten years after Crown stopped production, Asian Dragon once again became the flagship car sold by Toyota brand in Chinese mainland.

This generation of FAW Toyota Asian Dragon experienced by the author belongs to the fourth generation Asian Dragon, which was listed in China at the beginning of 20 19, and this 2.0 naturally aspirated version belongs to the special model of China which was listed at the end of last year. The specific model is the 2.0 aggressive version of the guide price 199800, which is also the beggar version. Before experiencing Asian Dragon 2.0, I have two big questions in my heart. One is whether Asian Dragon can hold up the banner of Toyota's flagship car, and the other is whether lexus ES200 is Asian Dragon 2.0.

What is the flagship?

With questions, I got the car keys of Asian Dragon. It is undeniable that the static aspect of this generation of Asian dragons is good, except that the lines on the front face will make many people feel a little ferocious, but the overall design of the side, especially the tail, is still in place. The overall interior is above the passing line, easy to use, nothing to praise. The 2.0 beggar version I experienced was a manual flannel seat. The softness of the front row and the size of the cushion can be praised, which is comfortable enough, but the wrapping is a bit poor. As for sitting high, this is also a consistent tradition of Toyota. Although my height is 180cm and I have enough head space, the adjustment range can be greater. Many people like to adjust their seats very low. The ride comfort in the back row is also well received, and there will be no shortage. The main driver's seat in the picture is the author's driving posture, which is quite backward. Sitting next to me is not a problem.

When driving the Asian dragon, the power performance immediately told me that this is not the level that a Toyota flagship should have. Asia Dragon 2.0 is equipped with 2.0 naturally aspirated mixed-injection engine code M20A, horsepower 178PS, torque 2 10n m, and the gearbox is CVT with analog10 gear. Push the Asian dragon with a weight of 1575kg. In fact, this car has enough power.

In the middle and low speed range, the overall response speed of Asian Dragon 2.0 is very high, and the acceleration is very light. It is unrealistic for you to speed up, but at least it won't make people feel anxious, which is enough for most people. However, at the medium and high speed under the large throttle, the running texture of this car is average. When you step on the accelerator deeply to get more power output, the overall response speed of this car is average. Step on the accelerator and pull up the speed. After about 1 s, you can feel the power input on the wheels. I drive fewer CVT cars, and I don't know if this problem is the pot of the gearbox. In addition, the quietness of Asian dragons is generally controlled. After 60 kilometers per hour, tire noise is introduced into the carriage. Considering that the tire is a Bridgestone runner who ran 10 thousand kilometers, this level should not be.

One more thing, the acceleration of Asian Dragon 2.0 to 1500 rpm or so will have an inexplicable and obvious sense of frustration, which is similar to the feeling of the traditional old AT gearbox upshifting. I have to understand it. I think it's direct? Shift -CVT starts gear at low speed, and then takes the steel belt, resulting in frustration. The owners of Camry 2.0 in the forum also had similar feedback, but I asked a few friends who opened the cash ES200, and they all said that there was no such problem. It seems that we have to go to the Lexus store to make a comparison before we can draw a conclusion.

From the comfort point of view, the chassis of the Asian dragon has a good texture, soft and tough shock absorption, which is very comfortable and conforms to the positioning of the Asian dragon. However, when turning, the body dynamics follow the general trend, giving people the feeling of a big car in an instant. Coupled with the steering feel of the ancestral old Toyota flavor, the moment and gain of righting make people unable to pick out any serious injuries but will not give people the desire to drive. The very loose shock absorption makes me very disgusted. Looking back at the fragments in my memory, I remember that the six generations of Camry also had this feeling. In my impression, the hybrid eight generations of Camry opened the year before last was more exquisite.

In combination with the above, I think that apart from being bigger, Asian Dragon has not opened any gap with Camry under the GA-K framework, and has no sense of crown in the past. Therefore, as Toyota's flagship car sold in the mainland, Asian Dragon can only rely on size.

American pizza

I remembered the Costco pizza I ate a while ago. It was cheap and delicious. 18 inch to sell 68 yuan, I remember hearing a spirited Italian say many years ago that he was very disdainful of American pizza:

I think Toyota Asian Dragon is actually a big American pizza, which is affordable and rich, suitable for the whole family to eat together, but it always feels less refined and elegant.

As we all know, Toyota has a large number of products developed for the North American market, and the main markets are basically in North America, such as Senna, Highlander, and the protagonist of this article, Asian Dragon. As early as 1994, when the first generation of Asian Dragon went on the market, Asian Dragon was a medium-sized and large-sized front-wheel drive completely tailored for the North American market. The first generation of Asian dragons can even be equipped with front seats in Datong store, so you didn't expect American things to appear in a Toyota car?

All along, the Asian Dragon and its core competitiveness have been riding comfortable, spacious and affordable carts, and now they are. On shell exchange theory

Some people say that the Asian Dragon is an ES shell changer, including many FAW Toyota sales, so please pull it down quickly.

Indeed, the Asian Dragon 2.0 has the same length and wheelbase as the lexus ES200, and is equipped with M20A+CVT. The parameters of Asian dragon are a little high. Is the standard value of a Lexus100000 yuan?

1. The appearance and interior are more exquisite. It is said that ES looks better than Asian dragon and the interior is more exquisite. No one should object, right?

3. Better driving experience, the steering is no longer as loose as the six-generation Camry, the chassis is better to follow, and there is no sense of big car.

4. Better chassis texture and quietness. As soon as ES200 is opened, you can feel a sense of high class, but Asian dragons don't.

5. It is said that there is almost no problem of CVT's low speed setback on the national sixth ES200, but I have never driven it. Anyway, it is quite obvious on the Asian dragon. This car is only 10 thousand kilometers.

6.ES200 will make people like listening to music and drive slowly and comfortably. Asian dragons don't have this kind of magic. It's just metaphysics.

In a word, I think that buying ES200 means spending more money on people with Asian dragon shells, which is either stupid or bad.

The Asian dragon is not a car that is not worth buying, but it really doesn't appeal to me. After the discount of 18.x million, the price is not too cheap, and besides the larger size, there is no essential difference with the Camry model of the same door, not to mention the Accord with strong comprehensive strength.
