This is an important step in cultivating jujube. At present, there are mainly 50 varieties of Daqingzao in Taiwan Province Province, including New Century, Honeyed Jujube in Taiwan Province Province and Great World, all of which have performed well. Fruit farmers must go to a professional nursery unit with complete "three certificates" to buy seedlings, so as not to cause losses.
Second, site selection
Most of the land south of the Tropic of Cancer is suitable for jujube growth, but it is best to choose sandy loam which is sheltered from the wind, well drained and irrigated, and slightly acidic. The skin of Daqing jujube is thin and easy to hurt, and the fruit scar can be reduced by sheltered orchard.
Third, planting
The best planting time is from March to May, depending on the weather. Where there is water, it can be planted all year round.
(1) planting spacing
Daqingzao has the advantages of fast growth, long plant life, oblique lateral branches, large crown area, plant spacing of more than 6 meters, and generally 6×5 meters between rows. Too dense planting wastes the cost of seedlings and makes field work difficult.
(2) Planting method
The planting hole is 60- 100 cm wide and 60- 100cm deep, with 20-30 kg of decomposed compost, 0.5 kg of compound fertilizer, 0.5 kg of calcium magnesium phosphate, 0.2 kg of magnesium sulfate and 0.025 kg of boron fertilizer. Mix a small amount of quicklime and topsoil, then plant and compact, and make a shallow basin of 20 cm around the seedling base for irrigation. If necessary, cover the bottom with straw to prevent evaporation in the hot sun. Do a good job of drainage, avoid flooding, erect pillars to fix seedlings, and avoid wind loosening affecting growth.
(3) Selection of pollination trees
Some varieties need to interplant pollinated trees to bear fruit easily, while others don't. If pollinated trees are needed, the ratio of fruit trees to pollinated trees should be 1 ~ 1, at least 8 ~ 1.
