Xiaolingfeng Temple in Ningbo

There is a Gexian Temple in Lingfeng Temple, which is dedicated to the statue of Ge Hong, and the West Temple is dedicated to Sakyamuni Buddha. In the second year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (327), alchemist Ge Hong came here to make an alchemy. Ge Hong is a Taoist theorist, physician and alchemist. When he lived in seclusion in Lingfeng Mountain, the plague was prevalent, and Ge Hong collected and sent medicines widely, which brought many people back to life. Every year from the first day to the tenth day of the lunar calendar, the incense in Lingfeng Temple is the most prosperous day, because it is said that the tenth day is Ge Xianweng's birthday, and people have come here to commemorate this ancestor who helped the world.

There is a well in the temple, which is said to have been dug by Ge Hong during his alchemy. The well is not deep, and the well wall is made of thick tiles. The water quality of well water is good. Add some glycol and it will be clear.

At the entrance of the temple, there is a pool called Drunken Dragon Cave, next to which is a tombstone of a monk who lived in the first year of Guangnian. Deep in the bamboo forest on both sides of the temple, there is a "Feng Shui Wall" left. Two stone tablets embedded in the temple wall, one of which is a new engraving of the old tablet, was written by Qiu Lian, a writer from Cixi in Qing Dynasty, and by Mr. Wang, a famous cultural figure in Ningbo today. The other is "Reviving the Spirit Peak" written by Mr. Tang Jie.

Li Wenguo said that it can be inferred that the excavation time of this ancient road from Xiaoling Peak to Wenxi will at least not be later than the Yuan Dynasty.
