Appreciation of Lin's Prose "Things to Avoid Typhoon"

Typhoon, an old saying in fishing village, is called "making geomantic omen", which probably has wind and rain. In the past, when the typhoon came, all the fishing boats fled, hid and sank, and there were almost no boats on the sea.

Those who fled fled to ports that could avoid the wind and waves, mostly fled to the Huangpu River in Shanghai; Smaller boats hide, move to the shore in various ways, and put them at heights beyond the reach of the waves; Those fishing boats that have no time to escape or hide have to take the method of sinking on the spot, artificially sinking the ship to the bottom of the sea, revealing only a thin mast, and then floating up after the typhoon, they can also escape.

This escape word is really well used. What kind of resistance can we make in the face of such natural disasters? Running away is the only way out. Escape is to make a living, and escape is also a kind of awe of nature. Although escape is a helpless choice, it is only an instinctive choice. Running for your life is self-protection, and it is to bow your head and admit your mistakes. Now it's called evacuation. The great shift of thousands of people and things is actually a word-escape.

But only after paying the price of blood, can we learn the lesson and return to the ancient truth, and then people can really be regarded as human beings. In an era when property is higher than people's lives, the typhoon on August 1st Army Day in 1956 was located at a garrison radar station in Zuitou, Huanglong East. In order to rescue the radar equipment washed away by the waves, 19 young officers and men jumped into the sea in desperation. This is a typhoon sea, this is boiling waves, and this is a storm in which the islands and reefs are also twitching. 19 flesh and blood, 19 fresh life, and so resolutely followed the green ordnance ... 19 tomb, 19 air force suit. Every time I think of these typhoon disasters or man-made disasters, my heart is shaking.

When I was a child, remembering typhoons was a simple pleasure. The typhoon that doesn't rain is called "dry pavilion" feng shui, and we all go to the seaside to watch the waves. A wave is higher than a wave, and the spray blooms for three thousand miles like white hair; Wave after wave, wave beating wave, the whole sea is like a gap that can't be closed; Waves rise in the water and stay on the shore. The beach is full of foam broken by big waves, covering layer after layer, and almost no sand can be seen.

Occasionally, floating objects appear on the sea surface and are pushed to the shore by big waves. If it is such a valuable thing as bamboo, someone will jump into the sea to catch it first, because it will be taken away by others if it is late. At that time, a big bamboo could sell for four or five dollars. At the same time, two or three people were found and put out to sea, so it is an unwritten rule in fishing villages to share equally among several people. At this time, the human head is like a black spot in the waves, erratic. He wants to move the floating objects to the beach mouth as much as possible to facilitate landing. It is very dangerous to scratch on rocks. Most people in the fishing village are very good at swimming. Those who watch this wave on the shore don't feel thrilling, but those who struggle in the sea feel that they have made a windfall.

Fortunately, typhoons are all in summer, and children with greater courage will go swimming at the beach mouth at this time, which is the fun and * * * brought by typhoons to fishermen's children. It is conceivable how big the waves will be blown by the typhoon at sea. But we head on in the big waves, still mumbling: "each wave is bigger than the next." At the moment when the big waves stood like corpses and reached the commanding heights, we got into the bottom of the waves like fish. You may not know that the waves are rolling and roaring over your head, but the bottom of the waves is calm, just like the bottom of the sea is always calm. When we get out of this wave, we will meet the next one. Only when the so-called three waves roll, most of them will be swept to the beach by the big waves before they can do anything. In the dark, their hair, ears, nose and mouth are all sand, and the pants they wear have long been ripped off by the big waves. Fortunately, the beach is flat and soft, generally it will not hurt the body and there is no danger. So adults are watching from the shore and won't stop it. Of course, this is unthinkable today. Only after experiencing the scouring of typhoon waves will the life of fishermen's children be hard. This is respect for the living environment, not a simple life adventure.

The real escape from typhoon is that fishing boats flee to Huangpu River in Shanghai. This is something that children have been waiting for for for a long time. Of course, children can't know that the essence of adults fleeing from typhoons is to escape. Only in this way can fishermen get out of the island, out of the fishing village and see Shanghai. When the news that the fishing boat escaped from the typhoon was confirmed, the fishermen began to make preparations.

At that time, the fishing boats were all wooden motorized sailboats with small tonnage and only 60 horsepower. The speed is very slow, and it takes eight or nine hours to drive to Husongkou, Shanghai. In my impression, Qian Shan is the only place to go to Shanghai, but it was so far away at that time. In fact, it's between the four corners and Yangshan, and the speed of the speedboat is less than an hour. When avoiding feng shui, the waves are not very big. Passengers will gather on the deck to lie down, bask in the sun, blow the sea breeze and watch a large number of fishing boats go hand in hand to avoid typhoons. Although the ship has been rocking, I am not seasick. Occasionally, the crew can be heard pointing to the buoy that has just been rowed to the side of the ship. This number is a sign that they know the way.

Seeing the lights in Shanghai Songkou, it was already dark, and it took only an hour or two to enter the Huangpu River. It was midnight when we waited for the dock. Ships that escaped the typhoon basically docked at Simon Road Pier and Dinghai Bridge Pier in Huangpu River. When there are many boats, they will drive to the dock closer to the corner of Huangpu River. The fishing boats in our village gather together, and the boats are inlaid in rows, like a moving village, which is very lively. In this way, we stayed by the Huangpu River for a few days. Although we ate cakes, fried dough sticks and soy sauce soup, the children were so happy that they forgot all the disasters that the typhoon might bring to their hometown.

There are two things to consider when going to Shanghai. One is swimming in Huangpu River. River water is fresh water, and only reservoirs on the island are fresh water. Such a big river and such a big reservoir have never been swam before. Various postures, jumping from a high bow, splashing water higher than people; The river seems too wide, so we can only swim halfway back. The bottom of the river is not deep, so you can dive down to get a handful of mud and throw it at each other. The other is to visit the 24th floor International Hotel on Nanjing Road. It is the tallest building that fishermen who have been to Shanghai have talked about. Let's look up to see if the hat will really fall off. Let's see if the roof is really shaking and floating in the clouds. Let's see if people and cars under the building are really as many as ants and crawling like ants. Perhaps there are many, jingling trams, neon lights farther than the moon, and all kinds of delicious food that can't be swallowed. Everything seems true and false, like a dream, engraved in my memory of escaping from the typhoon.

It was also when the typhoon escaped that a fishing boat was hijacked in our village. It was during the Cultural Revolution that two opposing groups of fishermen attacked each other in the village, and as a result, Lian was assigned to leave home and fled to Ningbo. But nearly a hundred people only escaped from two fishing boats, and then they could not produce and live at all. Finally, I got the news that the boat in the village was going to avoid the typhoon, which was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the exiles, so I took the train from Ningbo to Shanghai overnight and ambushed at the Huangpu River pier. These people flocked to the dock as soon as the fishing boats sheltered from the typhoon docked. There were few people on the ships that escaped from the typhoon, so they had to give in easily and watched eight ships hijacked and left, thus regaining their vitality and re-forming the situation of confrontation between the two factions. Afterwards, it was recalled that if we hadn't escaped the typhoon, we wouldn't have been able to grab these ships anyway. It's really a blessing.

I don't know when to start and when to end in order to avoid the typhoon in Shanghai. There seems to be no way to verify these, and there is no need to verify them. At present, many sheltered seawalls have been built on the island, once every 50 years,/kloc-once every 0/00 years. When the typhoon comes, fishing boats can basically stay in the county. We seem to be getting closer and closer to home, but we are far away from the Huangpu River, and we are far away from those people who avoid typhoons.
