Myths and legends of grandma temple in Siding Mountain

Legend has it that these four grandmothers are all from Henan. Because of poverty, they were sold as child brides. After that, they couldn't stand being abused. They fled to the mountains and became monks. They learned the art of rejuvenation and often treated the sufferings of the poor. The story that Grandma Siding took a fancy to Bagong Mountain and built a temple on Siding Mountain was compiled into many myths by the people and widely circulated. It is said that there is a Taoist priest named Sisan on Xidashan at the junction of Gushi County in Henan and Huoqiu County in Anhui Province. I heard that Bagong Mountain is a good place to cultivate one's mind and respect Taoism because of its dangerous terrain and beautiful scenery, so I came to Bagong Mountain from the distant West Mountain and decided to build a temple here to cultivate immortals. When she came to the top of Siding Mountain, she found a sword in the rock, and the words "presided by Jinling" were engraved on the hilt. It turned out that before her, there was a temple in Jinling, which looked after the treasure land of Siding Mountain and inserted physical evidence to raise money. Grandma Sisan's heart suddenly cooled, but her brow wrinkled. She took off her Hong Xiuxie, tore open the rock, buried her shoes under it, and then put her sword on the rock intact. A few months later, Grandma Sisan and Jinling came to Siding Mountain to build a temple. One mountain cannot accommodate two masters. When they argued, they all said they had something to prove. The two sides found out the witnesses and took their physical evidence, and found that Sisan's embroidered shoes were inserted under the sword presided over by Jinling. The owner of Jinling had nothing to say, so he had to give the mountain to Grandma Sisan.

Perhaps because of her life experience, Grandma Sisan gave alms to the poor. She wished people a happy marriage. All young married women who want children and old people, and women who want to have a prosperous population, come to burn incense and pray. It is said that they often have exams, so more people want to burn incense. After grandma sisan died, the local people carved a golden body for her in the temple in order to sacrifice her, and incense continued throughout the year.

It is also said that a long time ago, there was a child playing in Siding Mountain, and his life was dying. At this time, he was lucky to meet a young woman who returned to Gushi, Henan Province from Taishan via Shouzhou, and went down the mountain to save the child from the wolf. It is said that the young woman is a nine-day fairy. As a result, the young woman became a kind god who drove away violence and evil. In order to commemorate this goddess, everyone cut down trees and chiseled stones, and built a towering temple on Siding Mountain, called "Grandma Temple on Siding Mountain". Because the young woman saved the children on the 15th day of the third lunar month, this day was designated as the Sacrifice Day. Over time, there was the Siding Mountain Temple Fair on May 7th.
