It has long been recorded in the Classic of Materia Medica and Compendium of Materia Medica of Shennong in ancient China that jade has the functions of "removing middle heat, relieving annoyance, moistening the heart and lungs, helping to relieve sore throat, nourishing hair, dredging blood vessels and brightening eyes and ears", and "Yu Shuhua" also has the above beneficial health care functions. "Yu Shuhua" has the extraordinary spirituality of "the return of everything in the world". The Book of Rites says: "Soul and God belong to heaven, and shape and God belong to it", and "tree-shaped jade" is made of "gathering the aura of heaven and earth and transforming the brilliance of the sun and the moon", which has been favored by dignitaries and literati in past dynasties. The dignitaries regard it as an "auspicious treasure" because of its unusual spirituality of "gathering the spirit of heaven and earth". They think that Lin Shi is a thing in the shape of heaven and earth, which has the function of exorcising evil spirits and killing monsters. It has always been regarded as the treasure of Zhenguan Town Store by dignitaries in past dynasties. There is a saying that "the official is not prosperous without trees and jade, and the store has Jishiwang."
