In ancient times, a scholar went to Beijing to catch the exam. When passing through Wuyi Mountain, I fell ill on the road and was just seen by a kind monk. Then the monk made a bowl of tea soup for him to drink, and the scholar was safe and sound. Later, the scholar was not only the top scholar in high school, but also recruited by the emperor as Xu. Soon after, the champion came to Wuyishan again to thank the monk. After the monk told him that the tea soup brewed for him at that time could cure the disease, the champion asked for a box of tribute to the emperor, and the monk immediately made a box of tea and handed it to the champion.
When the champion brought this tea into the palace, it happened that the queen had a stomachache and could not afford to get sick, so the champion immediately offered tea to the queen. The queen recovered quickly after drinking tea soup. Seeing this great joy, the emperor ordered the champion to bring a Dahongpao to Wuyishan for reward and punishment. So the champion was ordered to come to Jiulong Pavilion, let a woodcutter climb halfway up the mountain and put Dahongpao on the tea tree to show his gratitude.
It was not until later that someone opened the Dahongpao that a magical phenomenon was discovered. The tea covered with dahongpao glowed red in the sun. Someone explained that it might be dyed red by Dahongpao. People named these three kinds of tea trees "Dahongpao" and carved the word "Dahongpao" on the stone wall.
