12. A brief reading of Nan Huaijin’s "Miscellaneous Comments on the Book of Changes": Earthly Branches

Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai. "branch", a supporting branch.

The role of the earth itself is the role of the moon and the earth in the solar system, and the relationship between the solar terms.

The twelve earthly branches represent the twelve months

Earthly branches: the astronomical names for the twelve constellations of the zodiac. Palace: location; Ecliptic: the circle around which the great sun rises in the east and sets in the west is called the ecliptic plane.

The twenty-eight constellations, on the ecliptic plane, have different locations each month; they are summarized into twelve locations, represented by twelve characters.

Shang Yuan: the first one hundred and eighty years; Zhong Yuan: the second one hundred and eighty years; Xi Yuan: the third one hundred and eighty years.

Shangyuan Jiazi: the first sixty years; Zhongyuan Jiazi: the second sixty years; Xiayuan Jiazi: the third sixty years.

"Collection of Ancient and Modern Books·Gand Branches" said: "With the twenty-eight constellations of heavenly birds and earthly obsidian, they are divided straight into the sky, and the twelve stars are recorded, which is the beginning of the twelve zodiac signs."

Based on the Western Han Dynasty bronzes unearthed in recent years and the astrological stone carvings in Han tombs, this theory is extremely possible.

There are six oppositions on the earthly branches. From the circle diagram, we can see that all the opposite positions are oppositions, such as Zi and Wu, Chou and Wei, Yin and Shen, Mao and You, Chen and Xu, and Si. With Hai.

It is not necessarily bad to rush, but sometimes it is necessary to rush. Opposite means conflict, which is also the reason for the wrong hexagram in the "Book of Changes".

The so-called opposition is when the twenty-eight constellations are on the ecliptic plane and come to the angle of the sun, which is called opposition; when they are in the opposite direction of the sun, this is called conjunction.

From the perspective of the circle chart , equal positions are combined (such as the combination of Zi and Chou, Yin and Hai, Mao and Xu, Chen and You, Si and Shen, noon is the sun and no moon is the six combinations, among the twelve earthly branches, there are Two-in-one, three-in-one, etc.).

When the twenty-eight constellations are in the zodiac, if they are in opposition to the degree of the sun, they become in opposition. Opposition is not a bad word, but means there is an obstacle.

Earthly branches: empty - Chou, Chen, Wei, Xu,

Twelve months in a year, six yin and six yang: twelve hexagrams

Qi Men Dun Jia: one, three, five, seven, nine - Yang numbers; two, four, six, eight, ten - Yin numbers;

Yang Yao: represented by nine ——The highest yang number is nine, and nine is the extreme of yang.

Yin Yao: represented by six - the five even numbers of the Yin number have "six" as the middle, and the Yin is taken among them. The Yin number is even, which is relative, and the number in the middle is the focus.

The principle of the universe is one increase and one decrease.

The mathematical philosophy of "The Book of Changes" is not the foundation or the beginning, but the most brilliant summary to such simplification.

Ecliptic: The projection of the Earth's orbit on the celestial sphere. (See dotted line)

Equator: The plane of the Earth's axis of rotation. (See solid line)

Yellow and ecliptic angle: the angle between the equatorial plane and the ecliptic. The angle is: 23°26'. The intersection of these two planes is the vernal equinox and the autumnal equinox.
