abstract
An office building in Hong Kong is so bad that nine people die here every year.
Pan Gang O works in a securities company in this building, and finds that female colleagues don't use the last compartment of the ladies' room because it is "unclean". At first, Pan Gang didn't understand the meaning. Later, she found two women smirking in the last compartment of the toilet, and then strangely committed suicide. Apen didn't understand the meaning. One night, Apeng and another female employee worked overtime. Near midnight, another female employee received the news of her husband's car accident, and then the female employee went to the hospital, leaving Apeng alone in the company. Before long, a strange thing happened in the whole office building. Apeng tried to escape, but found himself in the ladies' room. She got up the courage to open the last compartment of the toilet and found that it was the ghost of two dead female employees. Peng suddenly became dull. The next day, Apeng also committed suicide by jumping off a building.
Kevin is also the owner of a company in this office building. He hates Sister Mary who works here and is always making things difficult for him. After a holiday, he returned to the company, only to get the news that everyone in the company had died. However, he can still see the employees of the company. To this end, he turned to a feng shui master for help. The owner gave him cow's tears to find out the true face of the ghost, and Kevin was scared out of his mind after doing so. Later, a ghost came to the door and asked Kevin to take care of the company from now on. After Kevin promised, the ghost promised to let him go.
Ken is also a new employee of a toy company in this building, where he met a woman in red named Ashan. Ashan said that she has yin and yang eyes and can see ghosts. She is often pestered by women in white, who will harm her brother. One night, Ashan told Ken that the woman in white wouldn't stop until she died. Yashan jumped down the stairs, so did Ken. However, the influence of Yashan disappeared instantly. When Ken landed, he found himself a ghost. It turns out that Ashan is a spectre, and the woman in white is a person with yin and yang eyes. She wanted to help Ken, but she was threatened by Yashan. Therefore, Yashan's plan will succeed.
Wonderful comments
The film can make good use of the advantages of short stories, successfully create a compact atmosphere, the plot development is quite bright, effectively capture the attention of the audience, the editing and directing strategy is appropriate, and the three stories are well connected. Although they are not interlocking, they can be smooth and reasonable, and the connection between them will not make people feel redundant.
The film consists of three stories, which are entertaining, scary, funny and affectionate. Although the plot is not innovative and full of flaws (such as the clothes of people in white), on the whole, the three stories are not without characteristics. The Last Lattice has the shadow of a Japanese horror film. The director tried to create a thrilling effect with telephoto lens, closed lens and sound. Some scenes are well handled, but the story is weak and the creativity is insufficient. Otherwise, the results will be further improved. The plot of Punctuality is interesting, but it is different from the whole film. The appearance of all ghosts and Jordan chan's experience are so funny. Although the director knows it's not funny, the plot development is really forbearing. "Choice" takes the "ghost eye" route and wants to have an unexpected ending, but the previous plot is flawed, so it is not difficult for the audience with strong attention to guess the ending early.
This film has a strong cast, and Karen Mok, Feng Delun, Jordan chan and Shu Qi are all attractive stars. The performance of the four people is equally divided, and only Cantonese, which has not improved in Shu Qi, is ugly. Many supporting actors, such as Roland and King-Tan Yuen, also put into their performances, which greatly increased the persuasiveness of the plot.
Compared with Hell or The Night's Watch, this film is obviously inferior, but it is by no means shoddy. Generally speaking, Ghosts in the Office can finally be vivid and colorful with limited resources, but don't expect any surprises.
