The architectural style of Yisala

The Yishala folk houses built on the gentle platform on the west bank of the Jinsha River mostly use green tiles, white walls and civil structures, showing the style of a small town in Jiangsu and Anhui. The alleys in the village are criss-crossed, as dense as a spider web; every house has high walls and deep courtyards, and the courtyards are close to each other; there are alleys in front of the doors, and the alleys are connected. Hujiaxiang, Zhangjiaxiang... walking along the way is like walking in a maze of time and space, but you can see deep courtyards, high walls, and deep alleys. The momentum is eye-catching.

The quadrangle embodies the Feng Shui atmosphere of "hehe gathers wealth". Its four-in-one, five-in-one and high-pitched eaves highlight the Huizhou architectural style of "five mountains facing the sky and four waters returning to the well". The roof ridge and the tips of the four eaves of the house are all decorated with high-spirited skyward decorations; the inner eaves and water channels of the four compartments all face the patio to attract wind and wealth. Carved windows, siding, eaves and beams, piers, tables and chairs... exquisite carving art can be seen everywhere. The exquisite design of the eaves and the exquisite patterns of the tiles are even more breathtaking. The Yishala people set up sacrificial altars in the main hall, such as "the king of heaven and earth, the master, the master", "the ancestors, the kitchen king..." The local Yi people devoutly inherit the Han cultural tradition.
