History of Fengting Town, Xianyou County, Fujian Province

1958 set up fengting commune, 1984 changed to township, 1987 set up town. 1997, with an area of 87.8 square kilometers and a population of 92,000, governs four neighborhood committees in Xia Jie, You Lan, Bachelor and Xiaqiao, as well as Xin 'an, Xibei, Shantou, Xiashe, Dongzhai, Jiushe, Geng Feng, Putou, Jinhu, Xiufeng, Jianguo, Shanghu, Jianshan and He Zhu.
