As a researcher at East-West International University, Dong Bin once expressed his views on Feng Shui design. In his view, China's geomantic omen is profound. It is not only a knowledge about the choice of geographical location, but also an important part of China's classical philosophy, that is, geomantic design, which occupies a very important position in geomantic design. Whether in three-dimensional design or graphic design, geomantic omen has its good application value. It applies the philosophy of Yin and Yang to the works, making them more artistic. The application of geomantic omen in design, whether in the choice and design of space or objects, conforms to people's usual psychological and aesthetic standards. People also use it when choosing living environment, and it permeates the choice of living environment, the division of space and the design of space. Based on its application, Dong Bin thinks that it is more appropriate to call it Feng Shui Design than Yin and Yang Design, and the basic theories or laws on which Feng Shui Design or Yin and Yang Design is based are Feng Shui and Yin and Yang. Therefore, the creative design of the door, which combines Kanyu and China's classical philosophy of Yin and Yang, is called Kanyu design. Dong Bin believes that no matter superstition or science, as long as society needs it, people recognize it and need it, then it has a reason to exist, because from the study of it, it can make the surrounding environment more comfortable, make people's lives more comfortable, and meet people's thinking, emotional and psychological needs. Only these can be regarded as the combination of psychology and aesthetic design.
International eastern and western universities are also very optimistic about the study of Feng Shui. This is an undeveloped subject, but it is a profound one. What it involves cannot be studied in a few days, months or years. The research on it has been going on for centuries and will continue. Therefore, international universities in the East and West have set up courses such as "China Feng Shui Design" and "China Architectural Feng Shui". According to relevant persons from international universities in the East and West, the plans of these courses are relatively complete. In terms of curriculum, they refer to similar courses in some universities in Europe and America, and carry out scientific discipline construction according to the suggestion put forward by Professor Zheng Zhongying, president of international eastern and western universities, "I agree that we should not only work hard on Feng Shui, but also have scientific courses, at least comparable to other universities."
Therefore, China Kanyu Design and Research Institute of International East-West University has formulated "Kanyu Design" as a concept with design as the leading concept, supplemented by cultural creativity and industrial development, thus avoiding the difference between "science" and "superstition" supported by cultural theory.
