Pig-nosed turtle (scientific name: Carettochelysinsculpta), also known as Australasian pig-nosed turtle, is the only species of Trionychus. Its distribution is limited to: northern Australia, southern Irian Jaya and southern New Guinea, and it is the only surviving species of Trionychus. In 2004, it was first listed in the top ten endangered species announced by the World Wide Fund for Nature.
