Zhaoxing Dong Village, located in Liping County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, is the largest Dong Village in the Dong area of Qiandongnan Prefecture. It is also the folk culture center of the Dong nationality, and is known as the "first village in Dong township".
I have always been full of yearning for Zhaoxing Dong Village. I came all the way from my northern town when I learned that the first day of the winter moon was the legendary Dong people's big song New Year. Zhaoxing Dong Village is the most famous among the Drum Tower Group, which was once recorded in Guinness World Records. The whole Zhaoxing Dong Village has five drum towers, five flower bridges and five stages. The appearance, height, size and style of the five drum towers are different, which is a grand view. Zhaoxing Dong Village is surrounded by mountains, and the village is built in a mountain basin. Two streams converge into one stream, which runs through the village. Dong people are a versatile people. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, people gathered in the Drum Tower and Ge Ping to hold ethnic cultural activities such as "stepping on karaoke bars" and "promotion". This is the first time for me to see this special official promotion activity. Handsome men and beautiful women are dressed in strange costumes, and the Dong people carry him in a sedan chair and parade in the village. The scene is very lively.
Dong people have rich customs with profound and mysterious cultural connotations. Many tourists who like folk culture will come to participate in Dong people's New Year activities. I think it is worthwhile for us to take part in this folk activity. The story behind it is also related to the long historical development of the Dong people.
