Why did Wutai Mountain become one of the four Buddhist holy places in China?

Wutai Mountain, also called Liang Qing by the ancients, is famous for preserving the fine traditions of the Sino-Tibetan period, such as Buddhist scriptures. Everyone says that it is the first of the four famous Buddhist mountains, and it will become a Buddhist holy place because it is dominated by Buddhist holy places. Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty praised Wutai Mountain and said, "Emei and Putuo are three authors, and Wutai is a sacred rock."

"The Remains of Dunhuang Stone Chambers" records: "In the past, people praised the mysterious realm in the universe, saying that there were three mountains besides the Five Mountains, called Wutai, Emei and Putuo. The three mountains are all obvious because of the Buddha's traces, and the five mountains are the earliest to avoid, the most secluded and the most harmonious, hence the name. "

Buddhism says that Manjusri Bodhisattva, as the Buddha's assistant, puts wisdom first. Originally a Buddha, it was called Tathagata after planting dragons. In order to help Sakyamuni spread Buddhism and benefit his life, he is now a bodhisattva, the first of all bodhisattvas. Therefore, for thousands of years, Wutai Mountain has been regarded as the first of the four famous Buddhist mountains by Buddhists at home and abroad, and it is highly respected.

In addition, the Buddhist classic "Manjusri Bodhisattva Treasure Dalani Sutra" also said: "The Buddha told King Kong that after my death, a major earthquake occurred in the northeast of the southern government, including the Five Mountains, and the Manjusri Bodhisattva boy marched and lived, which was a statement to all beings." There are records in Buddhist scriptures, and the Buddha's mouth personally announces it. Therefore, Wutai Mountain is recognized as Manjusri Bodhisattva Huaying Dojo, which is famous at home and abroad.

Wutai Mountain is the Dojo of Manjusri Bodhisattva, which has a very important influence in Tibetan Buddhism. Buddhism in Wutai Mountain in Tang Dynasty was related to Tibetan areas. At that time, there was a legend in Tibet that Wutai Mountain was a "detective". Tubo sent messengers to ask for the map of Wutai Mountain. It is said that Songtsan Gampo sent people to build a temple on Wutai Mountain.

Wutai Mountain, because of its unique sacred status, witnessed the unprecedented development of Buddhism, with many sects and numerous eminent monks. Cheng Guan, a cool Buddha, is the fourth ancestor of Huayan Sect. He has lived in Wutai Mountain for a long time and preached the theory of Hua Yan Jing.

Wutai Mountain is the only one of the four famous mountains that is clearly recorded in Buddhist scriptures. It also left a deep impression on us and taught us a lot of culture.
