Introduction to Zhu Xi
Zhu Xi has written many works, including "Collected Annotations on Chapters and Sentences of the Four Books", "Explanations on Tai Chi Diagrams", "Explanations on Tongshu", "Book of Changes", "Collected Annotations on Songs of Chu", and later editions of "The Complete Works of Zhu Zi", "Collection of Zhu Zi's Yuxiang", etc. Among them, "Collected Commentary on Chapters and Sentences of the Four Books" became the imperial textbook and the standard for imperial examinations.
Zhu Xi passed by Shanxia Village
Shanxia Village on the north bank of Aojiang River is densely populated and crisscrossed by streets. As early as the Song Dynasty, it was famous for its abundant fields, convenient transportation, and convergence of business and travel. Guests traveling from north to south all stopped their horses and sedan chairs in the village at the foot of the mountain to take a rest and then hurriedly hit the road again at dawn.
According to legend, Zhu Xi, the master of Neo-Confucianism, passed by Shanxia Village in order to avoid the disaster of pseudo-learning. That day, the sun was blazing in the sky and the heat was unbearable. Zhu Xi's mouth was dry and his feet were weak. When he saw a teahouse at the intersection, he hurriedly walked into the teahouse and sat on a bench. Zhu Xi sipped the fragrant tea, opened his clothes to enjoy the cool air, and felt comfortable all over. Most of the fatigue of the past few days had been eliminated.
The owner of the teahouse is a woman who is nearly fifty years old. She only has an eight or nine-year-old boy at her knees. She gave birth to a boy on the way down the mountain and named him "Xiashan". Xiashan has been eager to learn since childhood. He could not let go of the scroll all day long. Since Zhu Xi was a great scholar of his generation, he naturally liked to be a scholar. What I love is Dongliangcai. He pondered for a while, took out a Tongbao from his body, and said with a smile: "Please prepare nine dishes for me to go with the wine." ?The hostess took the copper coin in her hand, and her heart felt like a bucket to fetch water? She was restless, don't do it, she will offend the guest officer; do it, how can she bring out nine bowls of food with just one copper coin? She stood there in a daze, with her feet like feet. It feels like it has taken root and cannot be lifted up or moved around. When he came down the mountain and saw his mother in embarrassment, he grabbed the copper coins and said, "Yi Nai, I have a way!"
Down the mountain, he rushed out of the teahouse like flying. After a while, he saw him standing with a smile on his face, holding a handful of leeks. In front of Zhu Xi. When Zhu Xi saw this, he hugged Xia Shan in his arms, shaking his gray beard, and shed tears of joy. It turns out that "韭" has the same pronunciation as "九", and Zhu Xi's drunkenness is not about drinking; he cares about verifying his talents and learning. Unexpectedly, the clever Xia Shan guessed the riddle immediately. How could Zhu Xi not be excited?
Zhu Xi stayed in the teahouse for one night, and took Xia Shan away the next day and taught him carefully. Then he went down the mountain and lived up to his teacher's teachings. He became a Jinshi in high school, and was promoted to a prison in Liangzhe Road. When he came down from the mountain and became a high-ranking official, his family moved north to the capital Lin'an. In order to express his gratitude to Zhu Xi for his support and teaching, he built a "Zhu Zi Temple" on the site of the teahouse to house Zhu Xi's memorial tablet. In spring and autumn, villagers worshiped it, and the relics still exist today.
Legend has it that the mosquitoes disappeared from the teahouse where Zhu Xi stayed at the foot of the mountain because the mother and son who went down the mountain burned it with mugwort that night. This mugwort was called "Bu Bu Xiang" by the villagers because it was stepped on by Zhu Xi.
Legend of Gui’an Village
Gui’an Village in Panxi, in the upper reaches of the Aojiang River, is famous for its hot springs. Legend has it that the name of Gui’an Village is related to Zhu Xi.
At that time, Zhu Xi, a master of Neo-Confucianism, was famous in both the government and the public for his moral articles. The mediocre Emperor Guangzong listened to Han Kanzhou's slander and ordered him to dismiss Zhu Xi from his official position. Han Zhaizhou was afraid that Zhu Peng would make a comeback, so he must kill them all and send troops to capture Zhu Xi. Fortunately, his disciples reported the incident and Zhu Xi escaped safely.
On that day, Zhu Xi arrived at Gui'an Village from the northern ridge of Sanshan, one foot high and one foot low, and Han Zhaizhou's soldiers were in hot pursuit. The villagers in Gui'an had heard of Zhu Xixian's name for a long time and helped him into the ancestral hall and hid him. It is strange to say that as soon as the officers and soldiers arrived at the entrance of the village, the mandarin fish came chattering in the stream, and they jumped out of the water in groups and piles. The officers and soldiers were so happy when they saw this that they immediately forgot to capture the "imperial prisoner" and rushed to the stream. While catching mandarin fish, the officers and soldiers had a hearty meal. Seeing that the sun was setting in the west, they had no choice but to hit the road back to Sanshan City before dark.
Zhu Xi escaped safely. It was night, the moon was shining over Dongshan Mountain, and it was as brilliant as a prairie. The elders in the village bought wine by the riverside to calm Zhu Xi's shock. The guests and hosts mingled together, admiring the beautiful scenery of the river and the moon. Zhu Xi was grateful for his father's warm hospitality, so he drank more and more. He was so drunk that he lay on the beach and fell asleep soundly after working hard for many days. Why was Master Zhu not afraid of the cold? The villagers found a crystal clear spring emerging from the place where Zhu Xi had been lying. The steam is steaming, this is the famous Gui'an Hot Spring.
It is said that Mandarin Fish protected Zhu Xi, and Zhu Xi was regarded as a great master of Neo-Confucianism. "露" and "Gui" are homophonic, so this unknown village in Xibin was named "Gui'an Village".
Qili Annotation
Aojiang River flows through Xiaocang, and there is a village named Qili Village. It is said that the name of Qili Village is also closely related to Zhu Xi. During the reign of Emperor Guangzong of the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhu Xi's Neo-Confucianism was declared by the court as "pseudo-science". To prevent any unexpected events, Zhu Xi kept his name anonymous and lived in Qili Village near Xiaocang, immersed in writing books.
(Qili Village of the She Nationality in Xiaocang Township)
Zhu Xi admired Qu Yuan’s sincerity of loyalty and patriotism, but also felt that people were indifferent to "Chu Ci" due to the long distance between them. He murmured the last sentence of "She Jiang": "My eyes are full of water, and I am watching the river." When will Ji Yi turn back? Birds fly back to their hometown, and foxes will die before they die. I believe that it is not my fault and I abandon it. How can I forget it day and night? Zhu Xi opened his frozen pen and wrote: "Shouqiu" means that he will die with his head resting on the hill, and he will not forget where he was born. "Li" says: Big birds and beasts represent their flocks. When the moon is over, he must return to patrol and pass his hometown. Also said: Happiness, happiness comes from its own place. Etiquette, don’t forget its roots. There is an old saying: When the fox dies, the first thing to do is to be honest and benevolent. ?Just after I finished writing, I suddenly felt warm all over my body, like a spring day. Zhu Xi was so happy that he couldn't help but dance. Only then did I notice something furry on my heel. I held up a lamp and looked at it. It turned out that there was a fox lying under the table. After that, it was quieter every night. The little fox snuggled under the table and warmed his feet. Zhu Xi felt comfortable all over, and his literary thoughts began to flow. In three months, the manuscripts piled up in boxes, and the eight-volume "Collection of Chu Ci Zu" was completed.
Unexpectedly, winter has ended and spring has come, and my eyes are filled with bright spring scenery. One night, he suddenly heard the sound of sobbing, and the little fox stood at his feet. From now on, he will say goodbye to his husband forever!? Zhu Xier asked why, and replied: The old nest was occupied by a strong badger, and the family will move tomorrow. ?Zhu Xi's face was full of water, and he scribbled a piece of "Qi Li Fu". When he read it, he burst into tears, and he burned it under the lamp.
The next day, Zhu Xi left Qili Village in panic. The word "Qili" is homophonic to "Qili" because Zhu Xi had a Buddhist scripture in the village and became attached to the fox. So "Qili" became the name of this village.
Two Dragons Grab the Pearl
During the Chunxi period of the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhu Xi was invited by a friend to give lectures in Mabi, Lianjiang. He set out from Rongcheng and climbed Beiling on foot.
After walking for a while, my mouth was dry and my tongue was burnt. I saw a thatched tea shop on the roadside. The signboard said: "Shuchun". Customers in twos and threes in the shop were drinking tea, chatting and laughing, when Zhu Xi called out: "The shop will make a pot of fine tea." The shop owner was an old woman in her fifties. When she heard the call, she hurriedly came out and greeted with a smile on her face: "Sir, I'm sorry. There are many customers today. The tea has been sold out and is being cooked." Zhu Xi said: "I am very thirsty. Please bring me a bowl of cold water." ?The shopkeeper brought a bowl of water, and Zhu Xi took it and was about to drink it. The old woman unexpectedly picked up a handful of chaff from the mouth of the grinder and sprinkled it into the bowl. Zhu Xi had no choice but to blow away the chaff gently with his mouth and drink slowly.
How could he endure being teased by the old woman in the wild shop? He seemed calm on the surface and struck up a conversation with the shop owner; "Im, how many people are there in your family? Is business easy?" The shop owner sighed. He said in a tone: "My husband unfortunately passed away the year before last, leaving mother and son to depend on each other. The son went to the mountains to chop firewood, and it was time to come back." ?The old woman saw Zhu Xi wearing a Ge turban and cloth shirt, dressed as a Confucian scholar. He asked tentatively: "Is your husband a scholar? Can you read the earth's veins? My husband has not been buried yet. I would like to ask you to buy a piece of land nearby." Zhu Xi frowned, and with a plan in mind, he pointed to the col on the opposite side and said, "There is a treasure land right now where your husband can be buried." Im said thank you repeatedly.
Coming out of the tea shop, Zhu Xi smiled secretly in his heart.
He is proficient in Feng Shui and is good at Liu Ren. The "treasure land" on the opposite mountain col is actually a "double turtle lock".
A few years later, Zhu Xi returned to Rongcheng from Lianjiang, climbed this mountain again, and was surprised when he walked to the front of the shop. The Shouchun tea shop was turned into a Zhaichun inn, and the thatched hut was replaced by a tile-roofed house. , there is also a wine curtain hanging. Yimu took Zhu Xi into the shop with a happy face, made a pot of good tea, and put some wine in there to wash away the dust and wind for him. The old woman smiled and said: "Sir, since my husband was buried in the treasure land you favored, the business has been extremely good. The year before last, we rebuilt a large tile-roofed house, expanded the store, attracted visitors from all over, and our son also married a daughter-in-law and gave birth to two children." grandson. This is all thanks to Mr.! He paused for a while and then said: Mr., this time is not like the last time you came here. That time you wanted to drink tea, but the water happened to be sold out. Had to drink cold water. I saw you coming up the mountain panting and sweating profusely. I was afraid that my husband would get sick if he drank the cold water in one go, so he sprinkled a handful of chaff into the water. ?A few words made Zhu Xi blush. Spine tingles. He ran outside the door and carefully observed the mountains opposite. Sure enough, the mountains were beautiful and the ground was prosperous. On the mountainside, two green dragons can be seen looming in the clouds and mist, circling and flying, fighting for a huge pearl, shining in five colors and auspicious. Zhu Xi was both ashamed and grateful. ;
