The predecessor of Jiangnan Experimental Middle School was the High School Affiliated to Dingcheng District Teachers’ Training School, which was founded in 1982. With the consent and approval of the district committee, government, and district education bureau, it began to recruit junior high school students in 1997. In 2001, it was officially named Changde Jiangnan Experimental Middle School.
The school is located on the bank of Yuanshui River, at the west end of Linyuan Road, Wuling Town, Dingcheng District. It is the terminal station for buses 7, 21, 47, and 48 in Changde City. The school covers an area of ??40 acres, with a building area of ??15,000 square meters. It has advanced teaching instruments and equipment, two multimedia classrooms, two computer rooms, one laboratory each for physics, chemistry, and biology, one library and one reading room.
