Xunxian County, formerly known as Liyang, is located in the Western Han Dynasty and is the only county-level national historical and cultural city in Henan Province. It was built in the third year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1370), with Wenzhi Pavilion as the center. It has four main streets, eight small streets and 36 alleys on the east, west and south. It has a history of more than 600 years, and the ancient meaning of the scenic spot still exists. There are ancient buildings such as Xunxian ancient city wall and Wenzhige. On 20 19, the ancient town of Xunxian County was declared as a national 4A-level tourist attraction.

Geomorphology of Xun county

Xunxian county is located in the eastern foot of Taihang Mountain and the south of North China Plain. The middle terrain is slightly higher, and the two sides are relatively flat. The west inclines to the northeast and southeast respectively from Dalai store, and the east inclines to the northeast from southwest. Due to the crustal movement and the frequent breaches and diversions of the ancient Yellow River, a micro-geomorphological pattern is formed, which is dominated by plains and scattered randomly by hills, plains and canals.

There are six hills such as Dabaishan, Qiufushan, Hua Shan, Xiangshan, Baisi and Tongshan in Xunxian County and 1 Huolonggang. The hilly area is about 147.3 square kilometers (excluding Dalaidian Town), accounting for10010.3 square kilometers of the county's total area (including state-owned Xunxian Farm). Among them, hilly area 130 square kilometers and mountainous area 17.3 square kilometers. The original Phoenix Mountain and Purple Mountain were razed to the ground because of taking the stone from the mountain.

There are Qihe Plain, Weihe Plain and Old Yellow River Plain in Xunxian County, with a total area of 847.4 square kilometers, accounting for 84.6% of the county's total land area. Qihe Plain is located in the west of the county seat, with an area of 152.7 square kilometers. Weihe Plain is located on both sides of Weihe River east of Huolonggang, covering an area of about 520.5 square kilometers. The Old Yellow River Plain is located in the northeast of the county seat, with an area of about 174.7 square kilometers.
