Since I spent most of my adult life in the northeast, the northerners I refer to here are basically from the northeast, or more accurately, from Heilongjiang.
Because of my work, I have traveled almost all the towns and villages in Heilongjiang in recent years. I still have deep feelings for this black land and have some understanding. Of course, I especially like the customs there.
A few years ago, I often traveled to Harbin-Shanghai. In the last two years, I started to live in Shanghai because I started a company in Shanghai. I deeply experienced the customs of Shanghai and felt the differences between the north and the south due to the different geographical environment. ?
Let me first talk about my new feelings about Shanghai: Shanghai really deserves its reputation, and I have five feelings:
First, I feel more and more that Shanghai is so big that there may be unheard of places every day, especially those commercial streets, which seem endless. ?
Second, I always feel the international atmosphere of Shanghai and the speed of integration with the international community. It is reported that Shanghai has become one of the global financial centers, and its global financial index GFCI level is only behind London, UK and new york, USA, with 1 slightly surpassing Tokyo, ranking third, and surpassing Hong Kong and Singapore.
The third is to feel the development speed of Shanghai. I often came to Shanghai ten years ago. At that time, my feelings changed a lot compared with now. The construction of elevated, subway, tunnel and high-speed rail has advanced by leaps and bounds.
Fourth, Shanghai's humanistic environment and openness and tolerance, Shanghai people are careful and patient.
I often go to cafes and bookstores, and I see crowds of people reading and studying everywhere, which is stronger than the learning atmosphere in Northeast China. ?
In particular, people's overall literacy has improved rapidly. For example, the car and others, the dedication of the police, the friendly treatment of foreigners, and the improvement of business service awareness. ?
Fifth, I deeply felt the differences in thinking habits and lifestyles between the North and the South.
For example, northerners treat people warmly, love to talk and communicate, while southerners treat people calmly and leisurely, and don't like too active communication. ?
Northerners are generous, always take care of their friends, and praise southerners for their delicacy and gentleness anytime and anywhere. ?
Northerners are generous, open-minded, optimistic and cheerful, while southerners are introverted, delicate and emotional. ?
Northerners don't spend money, but they spend money. They are willing to join in the fun and are easy to be marketed. Southerners like to settle accounts, don't spend money indiscriminately, and be cautious. ?
Northerners like eating, especially drinking. They get excited when they drink, and they talk a lot when they get excited. People in Renye Fang like to drink, but basically they don't drink too much. There are plans and regulations, and it is not easy to get drunk. ?
In a word, the biggest feature of Northeast people is hospitality and sincerity. If you travel to the northeast, enthusiastic northeast people will not only invite you to eat out, but also invite you to be a guest at home, so your relationship must be "iron" (good meaning).
Don't be surprised if your friend will hand you slippers as soon as he enters the door, and may even ask you to take off your coat or even pants, because northerners will never wear coats at home, and sitting on the sofa, chair or bedside is very comfortable, convenient and clean.
Then a big table full of food makes you not know what to eat.
In Harbin, because the winter is long, the floor at home will be covered and then polished very brightly. After dinner, they will sit on the carpet floor, have some tea and chat, which is also a very pleasant thing.
Northerners and southerners really live in two different worlds. Although they are all from China and speak Chinese, there are still many differences in their bones, neither good nor bad. They have their own characteristics and advantages.
Life is colorful, so I think it is also a kind of luck and opportunity to experience various lifestyles. Treasure it!
Have the opportunity to share with you the differences between North and South in my eyes!
