Xiaojiang ancestral hall was named Xiaojiang because its ancestor's original surname was Xiao. Later, because he could not escape from Wuyuan generation, he changed his surname to Jiang in memory of his ancestors crossing the river from the north. This branch is called Xiaojiang. In the cultural history of China, Jiyang River is the orthodox surname of Jiang, from which Xiaojiang evolved. Therefore, in many places in China, people use "true river" and "false river" to distinguish Jiyang River from small river.
