Around the16th century, western missionaries began to spread China culture to the west. The Italian missionary Matteo Ricci once wrote a book "Notes of Matteo Ricci China", in which there is a description of Feng Shui: "China people think that the whole material world is composed of five elements: gold, wood, water, fire and earth."
In the 9th century/KLOC-AD, the English missionary Yvette came to China. After years of studying China culture, he wrote "Feng Shui: Ancient Sacred Landscape Science in China", which was published in London.
Joseph Needham, a British expert in the history of science and technology, is the most famous foreigner who studies Feng Shui. He has a profound understanding of China's geomantic omen. In the book Science and Civilization in China, he spoke highly of the traditional geomantic omen architecture in China.
