Qinhuangdao in Hebei Province is not an island. How did this name come from?

On this day, the motorcade suddenly stopped in the process of marching, and Qin Shihuang was awakened. He was a little unhappy and asked loudly why he stopped. At this time, the attendants were busy saying that someone was in the way and had something important to say. Hearing this, Qin Shihuang thought that this man dared to stop, so we listened to him and waved the driver to stop.

The man quickly stepped forward and said, Your Majesty, there is a mountain where immortals live in the sea not far from here, and this Fairy Mountain is now and then hidden. I was lucky enough to see it once. There are many pavilions on it, and the drums and the piano are constantly playing. The immortals are drinking nectar and eating elixir. It's mysterious and lively. If the king wants to realize his idea and live with heaven, why not send someone he trusts to the immortal to get some medicine that can make people live forever?

Speaking of Qinhuangdao, does it give you the first impression that it must be an island, and it may even be inextricably linked with Qin Shihuang? In the next few minutes, let's take a look at the relationship between Qinhuangdao and Qin Shihuang.

Qinhuangdao, referred to as "Qin" for short, is located in the northeast of Hebei Province. Because it is called "the south gate of the northeast" in the northeast and northeast of Hebei Province, Qinhuangdao is also called "the back garden of Beijing and Tianjin" because of its special geographical location.

In the long history of more than two thousand years in Qinhuangdao, there are many historical allusions. Among them, the name of Qinhuangdao comes from the story of Qin Huang seeking immortality. Historically, Qin Shihuang offered sacrifices to the sea here and sent two groups of alchemists, men and women, to the sea to seek immortality medicine, hence the name "Qinhuangdao". Later, he decided to erect a stone tablet of "Qin Huang Begging Immortals to Enter the Sea", which is the only city named after the emperor in China.

A long time ago, Qinhuangdao was an island. With the development of national economy, Qinhuangdao, as one of the first coastal open cities in China, has been followed by port construction. People connected the island with the land to form the present Lulian Island. Qinhuangdao has seaport, Shanhaiguan and Beidaihe, and there are good tourism resources such as the Great Wall, seashore and ecology. With numerous peaks and mountains, vast sea area, beautiful scenery and cool climate, it is a well-deserved summer resort.
