The Historical Evolution of Hepu Town

Hepu Town has a long history. According to the records of Xiangshan County in the Republic of China, Sui Kaiyuan belonged to Taizhou Prefecture in the third year and Ming Prefecture in the Shenlong period in the Tang Dynasty. In the seventh year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty, it was banned to prevent Japanese pirates, until Guangxu allowed reclamation in the fifth year, and gradually developed into a hub of the north-south sea route.

1952, Sanmen County was transferred to Xiangshan and Hepu Township was established. 196 1 year was changed to commune, 1983 was changed to township, and the town was built the following year. 1996, with an area of 90 square kilometers and a population of 33,000. At the end of 2002, it has jurisdiction over three residential areas, namely Xinghe, Xianhe and Songhe, Hejin, Duzipu, Hexiang, Hepu Fishing Village, Golden Beach, Crab Factory, Plough, Xiaoyu Mountain, Zhang Xiaobai, Dabaizhang, Wenshan Front, Dasha, Windsor, Shuangwan, Xiawan, Heping Bay, Shiwan, Small Net Towel and Liushuiyan.

By the end of 2005, it had an area of 93 square kilometers and a population of 32,200, and governed 4 residential areas and 34 administrative villages. In 2008, the total area was 102 square kilometers, of which Nantian Island covered an area of 90 square kilometers. The permanent population is 35,000, and the floating population is nearly 1 10,000. It has jurisdiction over four residential areas, namely Xinghe, Xianhe, Song He and Hezhen, as well as Hexiang, Dutou, Hejin, Hepu Fishing Village, Xiaowangjin, Liushuiyan, Golden Beach, Tang Wan, Zhang Xiaobai, Crab Factory, Fan 'ao and Yangliukeng Fishing Village.
