[Notes]

① Clarification rhyme: The main sutra rhyme of Taoism, listed as the first sutra rhyme in the morning altar homework. The verses in its rhyme are derived from the first sutra of "Tao Zang", "Yuanshi Wumei Ren Shangpin Miao Jing" (end of sutra). The so-called "clarification" refers to the scene of the immortal heaven where "the jade universe is clear and spotless". It is the ideal state that Taoists pursue and aspire to reach. It requires believers to "be quiet in the three industries", "indifferent to the emptiness, calm the mind and not stained by the gods". In the worldly realm, you can realize the righteous path and understand the profound mysteries." In order to achieve the goal of practicing Taoism and immortality, you can become an immortal who attains Taoism and ascends to heaven.

This song has the function of guiding believers to have a peaceful spirit in the altar, and it also has the function of removing filth and eliminating evil. It belongs to Yangyun.

②Linlang vibrates, and the ten directions are cleared: "Linlang", beautiful jade, here refers to the instruments used by believers when chanting sutras, such as clangs, cymbals, wooden fish, hand bells, copper heads, drums, and cymbals , cymbals, etc., and also refers to the jade-like sound. "Linlang Zhenxiang" refers to the clear and sweet sound of "jade knocking on gold" emitted by the magical instruments, and also refers to the beautiful melody of the believers reciting the cave chapter and chanting the clear and beautiful music. (The percussion instruments used in Taoist ritual music are called ritual instruments. In Taoist ritual music, they also include commonly used flutes, shengs, pipes, pipa, ruan, erhu, etc.) "Ten directions", east, south, west , north, southeast, southwest, northwest, northeast and up and down together form ten directions. "Qingqing" means solemn and quiet. This sentence, accompanied by the music of chanting at the opening of the altar, emits a golden sound and a jade rhyme, making all directions solemn and quiet, presenting a peaceful and wonderful scene.

③The rivers and seas are silent, and the mountains swallow smoke: The Sutra says: "The Tao of true peace and tranquility is the sect." "Quietness" is very important to Taoists, because only "quietness" can "gradually enter the true Tao" ( "Eternal Peace Sutra"). "The river and the sea are silent" means quiet; "the mountains swallow smoke" means clear. The whole sentence says that the sea is calm and the mountains are clear. This sentence not only makes people feel wonderful, but also brings people endless thoughts.

As we all know, rivers and seas are never calm, and there are many clouds in the mountains. If you chant this sentence, imagine yourself as if you are in the vast expanse of space. Looking down at the rivers, lakes and seas, the wind and waves are calm, and there are no smoke or clouds covering the mountains. Everything is so quiet, so clear, so wonderful. By chanting this sentence, one can understand and appreciate the rare state of tranquility and tranquility that the Supreme Master said: "Go to the extreme of emptiness and maintain tranquility."

④ All spirits subdue and attract a group of immortals: "ling", gods. Taoism believes that all things are animistic, and even various organs of the human body have spirits. The "gods" mentioned here not only refer to the gods of the universe and void, but also refer to all the gods who inhabit various organs of the human body. For example, "the name of the hair god is Canghua, Taiyuan, the name of the brain spirit is Niwan, the name of the eyes is bright, the word is Yingxuan, the word of the nose is Yulong, the word is Lingjian, the word of the ear spirit is Youtian", the word of the mouth is Danzhu, and the tongue is Zhenglun. Luo Qian, the tooth god, Hu Ben, the throat god, Dan Yuan, the mind god, and so on. "Suppress" means calm and latent. "All spirits subjugate" means that all the spirits that guard the various organs of the human body are calm and latent. Being so solemn and solemn, I naturally felt that the immortals were riding on the luan and crossing the phoenix, and descended on the sutra altar. Now, wouldn't it be great to see humans and immortals come together! "Recruiting a group of immortals" can also be understood as the coming of gods in one's body (due to a person's tranquility).

⑤There is no filth in the sky and no evil dust on the earth: Taoism believes that the human body itself is a small world. The "heaven and earth" in this sentence also refers to the human body itself. "Filthy atmosphere" and "demon dust" refer to the obstacles of the seven emotions and six desires that cause confusion in human nature. This sentence says that reciting sutras devoutly can make people purify their minds and have few desires, eliminate all obstacles, make them indifferent and uncontaminated by the world, and restore their original pure nature. In this way, it can be said that there is no cloud in the sky.

⑥Minghui is clear, and there are a lot of mysteries: Taoism believes that tranquility produces wisdom. "Ming" means quietness. "Minghui" refers to wisdom arising from silence. "Dong" means thorough. "Qing" means clear. "The dark wisdom leads to the clear" means that wisdom arises from silence and enlightenment is revealed. "A large number", unlimited, infinite. "Xuan" means mysterious. "Xuanxuan" means both the mysterious and the mysterious. "A large number of mysterious things" refers to the merits and virtues of chanting sutras, which is incredible. When the mind is pure, it will be empty, and if it is empty, the mysterious quantity will be open, and when the mysterious quantity is open, everything will be tolerated and accepted. Therefore, Qiu Zu said: "When the mysterious quantity is open, it will accept the mountains and seas."

"

In the poem "Qingyun Yun", first of all, it is written that chanting sutras (the sound of Linlang) can lead to tranquility (purification of the ten directions). Then it writes about the state of tranquility that should be achieved (rivers and seas are silent, mountains swallow smoke). Next, write down the function of "quietness": quietness can attract gods (all spirits subjugate and attract immortals); quietness can reveal (appear) nature (the sky is free of filth and the earth is free of demon dust); quietness can generate wisdom. , fully comprehending the Great Way (Minghui Dongqing). The last sentence echoes (Linlang Zhenxiang), pointing out that the merits of chanting sutras are incredible (a lot of mysteries).

The sutras are "to the extreme of emptiness". The idea of ??"keeping quiet and ascetic" is in the same line, and is also very consistent with the Taoist teachings of cultivating one's nature and realizing the Tao.
