Our family got on the bus to Princess Yongtai Cemetery of Qianling Mausoleum, part of the Chaoling Tomb of Princess Yongtai Cemetery. The beautiful scenery along the way often arouses admiration from people on the bus.
Princess Yongtai, named Li Xianhui, was the granddaughter of Emperor Gaozong Li Zhi of the Tang Dynasty and Empress Wu Zetian, and the seventh daughter of Zhongzong Li Xian. She died in the first year of Wu Zetian's Dazu at the age of seventeen. The reason why Li Xian named his daughter Yongtai was because he hoped that his daughter would be healthy forever. When you walk into the tomb gate, you will see a gate that is more than 20 meters high and 10 meters wide. Walking forward, there is a small warehouse-sized hole on the left and right sides, with ceramic figures and bottles in various shapes. Some little people hold their hands together, their hair is tied into an egg roll, and their chests are tilted forward. They look very beautiful, and they really look like slim young girls.
If you take a few steps forward, you will find a sky hole the size of a window above your head. The narrator aunt said: “The more sky holes there are, the higher the social status of the tomb owner. "I counted and found that there were 7. It seems that Princess Yongtai's status is not low! Under the fourth cave, there is an inscription 3 meters long and 2 meters wide. It is a brief introduction to the life of Princess Yongtai. It reads: Princess Yongtai was buried with her husband. The cause of Princess Yongtai's death was miscarriage. Dead. But there is another theory that Princess Yongtai died because she was killed by Wu Zetian because she spoke ill of her behind her back. The cause of death is unknown. "When you walk to the last cave, you will find that the tomb door is not completely open, but a hole is dug from the middle. Obviously, it must have been stolen. The tomb robbers were afraid of hidden weapons, so they dug a hole in the middle of the tomb door. Dig a hole so you won't be stabbed by a hidden weapon. There is a hole big enough for a person to crawl in, and there are three eye-catching characters on it. , this tomb was stolen as early as the Qing Dynasty. I heard the commentator said: "Before this tomb was developed, archaeologists discovered a mummy before it was stolen. Continuing to walk forward, what comes into view is a giant sarcophagus carved from stone that is 2 meters high and more than 10 meters wide. Because there are many people visiting, there are many water drops on the sarcophagus. It is also inlaid with eaves-like lace, and the palace maid is carved on it. Just like Qin Shihuang, he can fight with soldiers after his death; Princess Yongtai can also be served by maids after her death.
Although I visited the tomb of the ancient royal family, I did not see the remains of Princess Yongtai during the visit. It was a pity because the archaeologists had no experience in keeping the tomb when they first discovered it. It was not properly kept and was lost due to improper storage during transportation to higher-level research institutions.
