The Yellow Emperor asked, "When you buried the treasure, did you mark it?" Qiangshang replied: "There is a mark, I am afraid I will forget it later. I specially put a cypress tree in the place where I hid the treasure, so that I could look for it later. I don't want to know that there are cypresses all over the mountain now. " The Yellow Emperor asked in surprise, "Is this really the case?"
At this time, Qiao Guomin, who came to see me off, confirmed: "This man is telling the truth. There are grass and no trees on Qiaoshan Mountain, and then cypress trees suddenly grow all over the mountain, countless. We were very surprised. I don't know why, but I didn't expect it to be because of buried treasure. " The Yellow Emperor was overjoyed and said to the Qiang merchants, "Don't look for it. Your buried treasure has appeared. This cypress tree full of mountains is a treasure you gave me. " "Come," said the Yellow Emperor, taking the cypress seedlings presented by the strong merchants, "let me plant them, and our descendants can use them to build houses in the future." The Yellow Emperor immediately dug a pit beside the car to cover the soil and planted cypress seedlings. When he wanted to reward Qiang Shang for his contribution to the treasure, Qiang didn't suffer. The Yellow Emperor took a fancy to this treasure trove of geomantic omen and decided to be buried here a hundred years later, so he ordered his two sons to stay in Qiaoguo to guard the treasure, and then continued to patrol the north.
According to legend, after the Qiang people buried the treasure, the ancient cypress on Qiaoshan Mountain grew out. Huangling county Xuanyuan Temple's "cypress planted by Xuanyuan Hand" is said to have been planted by the Yellow Emperor at that time. After 5000 years, it has covered the earth with thick shade and can reach the sky. The cypress tree has "seven hugs, eight fangs and a half, and it doesn't count." Known as the crown of cypresses, "the crown of cypresses in the world."
The Yellow Emperor planted cypress by hand.
At the foot of Qiao Shan, there is a Xuanyuan Temple. Xuanyuan Temple covers an area of about 10 mu. There are 14 cypress trees in the yard, and there is a cypress tree on the right. The thick branches are coiled in the air like a dragon, and some roots are exposed on the ground. Leaves are thick all the year round, like a huge green umbrella, which is said to have been planted by Xuanyuan family for more than 5 thousand years. There is a stele building beside the tree, which is embedded with stone tablets. It says, "This cypress is 58 feet high, 3 1 foot below, 0/9 feet in the middle and 6 feet above, making it the highest among the cypresses. According to legend, it was planted by Xuanyuan Huangdi himself, about 5,000 years ago. As the saying goes,' the seventh floor is eight and a half feet, not counting', which refers to this cypress tree. " It is said that this tree was re-measured not long ago and its circumference has reached 30 feet. Some people say that this cypress tree is the largest in China at present, and it is known as "the king of cypresses" and "the father of cypresses in the world". Legend has it that in order to educate Qiao Shan people to get out of the cave and live in a house on land, the Yellow Emperor directed everyone to cut down a large number of trees, so that all the trees in Qiao Shan and its surrounding areas were cut down. When the flash floods broke out, all the people and houses living halfway up the mountain were washed away and washed down. Seeing the ravines and depressions all over the mountain, the grief-stricken Yellow Emperor vowed not to cut down trees indiscriminately in the future and planted a small cypress by himself. The subjects were deeply moved and followed suit. After a few years, the bridge forest is lush and lush. Since then, afforestation has become a fine tradition of the Chinese nation, which has continued from generation to generation.
