The famous Tubo tombs are located in Chaidamu, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province, near Hot Water Town, 0/0 km away from Chahanwusu Town/Kloc-0 in dulan county, with its back against the towering Hot Water Mountain, facing the surging Chahanwusu River and overlooking the beautiful Chahanwusu Oasis, which is surrounded by mountains and waters. The mausoleum is really a treasure trove of feng shui.
Tubo is the ancestor of Tibetans. In 663 A.D., the increasingly powerful Tubo kingdom smashed the Sanchao Tuyuhun, which had ruled Qinghai for 350 years, and occupied the vast area under Tuyuhun's jurisdiction. Tubo tombs reflect the social, political, economic and cultural exchanges between the East and the West in Qaidam during the reign of Tubo.
