In my mind, "The Book of Changes" is profound and a very mysterious knowledge. By reading "The Book of Changes", I also have a preliminary understanding of the "Book of Changes". The following is my review of the Zhouyi, which I have compiled, and I would like to share it with you!
Review of the Zhouyi
I have only heard of the Zhouyi before. Some people say it is used for fortune telling, and some It is said that the invention of the computer is due to the thoughts of "The Book of Changes". Anyway, in my mind, "The Book of Changes" is profound and very mysterious knowledge. I recently listened to a wonderful explanation of "The Book of Changes" and was deeply touched. I also had a preliminary understanding of the "Book of Changes".
The Book of Changes is indeed the foundation of Chinese traditional culture. The Book of Changes is vast and all-encompassing, covering astronomy, geography, music, art of war, rhyme, and arithmetic, so as to catch the fire outside. Can all be explained by referring to Yi? The philosophical thoughts in the Book of Changes are also particularly enlightening. I have a lot of thoughts after reading the philosophical thoughts such as "fullness brings harm, modesty benefits", "misfortunes and blessings are caused by each other", "excessive strength will lead to failure, and softness strengthens strength", etc., especially among them? Do misfortune and good fortune come from each other? Dialectical thinking has inspired me a lot.
Remembering what happened to a friend of mine, I feel that we should always think about this truth in our daily work and life, be prepared for danger in times of peace, and be full of hope in difficult times. I have a friend who lives in a county. His family situation is very good. He has a villa, a car, a lovely wife and a lovely son. He has good working conditions and a good income. I am easy to socialize with, I have many friends, we get together often, and my life is very enjoyable. But my friend also has a weakness, that is, he often drinks with his friends, often gets drunk, and likes to drive after drinking. I often warned, but with little success.
At the end of last year, my friend was involved in an accident while driving under the influence, resulting in death. He was detained under criminal charges. He later paid more than 200,000 yuan in compensation to avoid jail time. After the accident, my friend often blamed himself and stayed indoors. However, after being persuaded by many friends, life is a long road. After encountering setbacks, you should cheer up and not just sink. My friend gradually came out of these gloomy days. However, the impact of this incident may be unforgettable in his life.
Just like the idea of ??"misfortunes and blessings are caused by each other" reflected in "The Book of Changes", when people are in good times, they must consider the difficulties they will face in the future. Otherwise, they will not be happy and miss Shu. When they really encounter difficulties, they may be unbearable. . My friend made this mistake in his daily life. Life was too good and smooth, and he failed to be prepared for danger in times of peace. As a result, such an accident happened, which was extremely traumatic for everyone. When my friend was in a difficult situation, he started to feel discouraged. At this time, he should also understand the philosophical thought of "Misfortune and fortune are caused by each other" in "The Book of Changes". We should have hope for the future and must not give up. "It's a blessing in disguise, but it's a blessing in disguise." If my friend can remember the lesson in his future life, he may have a better life.
"The Book of Changes" is indeed a heavenly book, which is profound and difficult to understand, but understanding the thoughts on life and doing things in it will benefit you throughout your life. Study with your heart, understand with your heart, find the truth of life from "The Book of Changes", and use the philosophical thinking of "The Book of Changes" to guide your life and work. The road to life may be much smoother. I will also study "The Book of Changes" more in the future, and hope that more people will understand the "Book of Changes".
Comments after reading the Book of Changes
I have heard of the book "The Book of Changes" when I was very young, but it is much more mysterious than books like "The Analects of Confucius". I still remember the first time I saw this book from my grandpa. It was Chinese New Year, and my naughty cousin dug out a yellowed book without a cover. As a result, my grandpa took the book very preciously and refused to let his cousin play with it. Grandpa said this was the "Book of Changes", and then my uncles and uncles all said that this book was very good because I was too young to remember it clearly. However, "The Book of Changes" is a good book, and I have known it since I was a child.
As I grow up, I still haven’t read this book. I have a little doubt in my mind: Isn’t this book very famous? How come I don’t see my classmates reading it?
After college, I officially had the opportunity to read this book for professional reasons, and I learned that the "Book of Changes" is also called "The Book of Changes".
After reading it, I realized that this is a book about revealing the typical symbolism of the four hundred and fifty hexagrams of Yi and the corresponding judgments of good and bad luck, including the hexagram shapes, hexagram words, and line words of the sixty-four hexagrams. To put it simply, it is similar to reading Feng Shui and fortune telling books. No wonder my grandpa reads it. My grandpa’s hobby is doing feng shui for other people’s buildings.
However, although it is a book about fortune-telling, I still read it with great interest, because I learned that if the sky moves vigorously, a gentleman will strive for self-improvement; if the terrain is weak, a gentleman will carry things with great virtue. The famous quote actually comes from "The Book of Changes". I think this book will not be that simple, it should be a book full of philosophy.
As one of the Four Books and Five Classics, "The Book of Changes" was used specifically to predict the future and make decisions on national affairs in ancient times. It also tells how to deal with the relationship between nature and people, and between people. In my opinion, this inevitably contains some unscientific theories, but I think it has its subtleties in terms of culture, as well as in terms of telling people and nature, and how people can succeed.
Heaven moves in good health, and a gentleman strives to constantly strive for self-improvement. Don't use Qianlong, because the Yang is down. Seeing the dragon again in the field, De Shipu also appears. Work hard all day long and repeat the Tao. Or leaping into the abyss, there is no fault in advancing. The flying dragon is in the sky, and the master has made it. This is the first hexagram "Qian" from the "Book of Changes". The general meaning is: a gentleman should be like the sky, which is constantly moving, even if you are wandering around, you will not give in. If you are a gentleman, your ability to handle things should be like the earth, and there is nothing that cannot be carried. It cannot play a role during the latent period, so we must strengthen our faith, endure and wait, and do not act rashly; when the time has not come, like a dragon diving into the abyss, we should hide and wait for the opportunity; the dragon flying to the sky is a sign that all people in the world will be blessed. Ze; A gentleman should be self-reliant and work tirelessly all day long. When you make a positive choice, when you retreat, you retreat, when you jump, you jump, you can go up or down, when you jump, you jump to the ninth-five position, when you retreat, you retreat into the abyss of the masses, then you can make no mistakes.
This contains profound philosophical implications. For many years, these words have supported and encouraged many people to strive for success. These words teach us that if we want to make a difference, we must strive for self-improvement and have a broad mind. Then we must fully understand our own abilities, have firm beliefs, wait for the time to mature, and finally move towards success bravely and resolutely; and we must be decisive and do If you make a mistake, correct it immediately.
There are many philosophical truths in the "Book of Changes". For example, the cathode must reverse and the anode must reach, which means that everything should not be too much and must be measured; observe astronomy to observe changes in time; observe humanities, Yihua Cheng Tianxia tells us that we should not only pay attention to the weather and grasp natural changes, but also pay attention to people and handle interpersonal relationships well. This is an extremely important step to achieve success.
"The Book of Changes" is a masterpiece with profound implications in ancient my country. Even today, it still has a profound impact on our country's economy, politics, and culture. When I read "The Book of Changes", I could only understand a very small part of it. There is still a lot of knowledge and philosophical principles hidden in the book. However, I have benefited a lot from just this part. It has taught me a lot about life or how to deal with things. In your leisure time, pick up "The Book of Changes" and read it carefully. I believe you will gain something!
Zhouyi's reading notes
I have been wandering in the realm of "The Book of Changes" recently. , and found that Confucius' contribution to the "Book of Changes" was so great that it was simply beyond our imagination. It can even be said that without the guidance and intervention of Confucius, we would have no way to interpret this heavenly book. Without Confucius's "Ten Wings" as wings, it would be difficult for this book to travel through historical time and space and be passed down. Here I will only briefly talk about the shining points of Confucius' thought in Shiyi's "Xici Zhuan".
"Ten Wings" is Confucius's ten articles on the Book of Changes, including "Xiang Zhuan", "彖传" and "Xici Zhuan", each divided into six articles, as well as "Classic Classics" and "Classic Biography". There are four chapters in "Shuo Gua Zhuan", "Xu Gua Zhuan" and "Miscellaneous Gua Zhuan", and there are ten chapters in total. "Wenyan Zhuan" is about the two hexagrams "Qian" and "Kun" and has nothing to do with other hexagrams and lines. "Xu Gua Zhuan" explains the reasons for the order of the sixty-four hexagrams. It is worth studying and I plan to write another article to explain. "Shuo Gua Chuan" deduces the eight original hexagrams. The so-called meaning of the hexagrams is Confucius's understanding of the eight hexagrams. "Zhuan Zhuan" talks about the principles of comprehensive hexagrams and wrong hexagrams. These three articles are all specialized discussions. Only "Xici Zhuan" is a very scattered discussion. Some people say that it is equivalent to the general theory of "Yi Jing". There is a certain truth, but it is specious. I think it is not a general theory, but Confucius' interpretation of "Yi Jing". A collection of insights from the Book of Changes.
"Xici Zhuan" is a collection of Confucius's reflections on reading "Yi"
"Xici Zhuan" is divided into twelve chapters each. Kong Yingda's "Yi Jing Zhengyi" and Zhu Xi's "Yi Jing Zhengyi" The statement in "The Original Meaning of the Classic" is more reasonable, and I will follow it today. The first seven chapters of the previous part all belong to the general introduction and interpret the I Ching from different angles. As it says at the beginning: "The heaven is superior and the earth is humble, the universe is fixed." The humble and the high are in the same position, the noble and the humble. Movement and stillness are constant, hardness and softness are broken.
?It is the understanding and interpretation of the overall spirit of the "Book of Changes". The general idea is: The sky is high and noble, the earth is humble and low, and the position of the universe is determined. Once the low and high places are revealed in turn, things are high and low in their respective places. The movement of the sky and the stillness of the earth have certain laws, and the masculine and feminine qualities are clearly distinct. This is an explanation of the origin of the "Book of Changes" and an understanding of the connection between nature and human activities. The first few sentences of the second chapter say: The sage sets up hexagrams to observe the phenomena, and the words are used to determine the good and bad, and the hardness and softness are pushed together to produce changes. ?The sage set up the hexagrams of the Eight Trigrams to observe the changes in the world, set words on the hexagrams to explain good and bad luck, and used the yin and yang lines to move against each other to produce changes. It is a further explanation of the origin and application of Bagua.
The second chapter of the second part of "Xici Zhuan" says: "In ancient times, Bao Xi was the king of the world. He looked up to observe the phenomena in the sky, looked down to observe the laws on the earth, and observed the writings of birds and beasts. According to the suitability of the earth, the bodies are taken from the near side and the objects from the far side, so he begins to make Bagua to understand the virtues of the gods and to imitate the emotions of all things. ?This passage explains how the Bagua came into being. It is the opening line of the study of the Book of Changes. It has been quoted repeatedly by later generations and is familiar to many people. If we consider the writing of an article or general theory of the I Ching comprehensively, it should be the opening sentence of "Xici Zhuan" and should not appear in the second chapter of the next article. Therefore, I once felt that "Xici Zhuan" was written by Confucius when he was reading "Yi". The disciples did not dare to change positions and maintain the original appearance when narrating, so this situation occurred.
The "Ten Wings" in the "Book of Changes" were passed down by Confucius to his disciple Shang Qu and passed down from generation to generation. Unlike "The Analects of Confucius", "The Analects of Confucius" was compiled collectively by disciples, so the disciples have editing ideas. "Ten Wings" were directly passed down from Confucius' words by his disciples, and they did not dare to change them casually. Therefore, I say that "Xici Zhuan" is not a general theory, but a collection of Confucius's reflections on reading the Book of Changes.
New wine in old bottles? The carrier of Confucius' thoughts
Confucius once said that he was "statement but not creation", that is, he was stating and inheriting ancient culture rather than creating, so it means that he was doing something All cultural work is well-founded and has been verified by ancient history. When he revised the "Spring and Autumn", he actually revised it on the basis of the original history books of the State of Lu. The so-called "pen is sharpened, the pen is sharpened". As for "Yi", he did not modify the original text but wrote his own essay in an essay. way of feeling as well as opinions. Either a general summary or a separate explanation, using hexagrams and lines to express one's views on the relationship between the universe, heaven and earth, and human society, injecting vivid and rich content such as human life and ethics into the originally boring symbol system, allowing us to see human figure.
Chapter 8 of "Xici Zhuan" basically records Confucius's interpretation of some individual lines, such as: "With people, weep first and then laugh." ?Confucius said: ?The way of a gentleman may come from somewhere, or be silent or speak. If two people are of the same mind, their sharpness will cut through metal; if they speak of the same mind, their odor will be as bad as orchid. ?As mentioned earlier, the line of the "Tong Ren" hexagram "First weeps and then laughs". Confucius explained this line: The principle of a gentleman's dealing with others is that sometimes he can travel, sometimes he can live in peace, sometimes he can remain silent, and sometimes he can talk in style . The two of them work together like a sharp blade that can cut through iron like mud. Their will and ideal are the same, and their words are as fragrant as orchids. Emphasize the importance of working together. We often use the idiom "Two people of the same mind are as sharp as metal; the words of the same mind are as stinky as orchids", but we don't pay much attention to the words of Confucius. Work modestly, a gentleman will eventually die, which is auspicious. ?Confucius said: ?To work without cutting down, to have merit but not to be virtuous. To be extremely generous is to use one's merit to impress others. Those who are virtuous and respectful, polite and courteous, and those who are humble are those who show respect to preserve their position. ?The previous words are the lines of ?Qian Gua?Jiu San. This line should have originally existed and was a language earlier than Confucius. What follows is Confucius’ explanation of this line. The general idea is: to be diligent but not boastful, to be meritorious but not to take credit, and not to think you are virtuous is to be extremely kind and to pass on one's own credit to subordinates. Morals must be high and etiquette must be humble. The meaning of humility is to preserve one's own virtues and merits with a respectful attitude. Confucius' explanation enriches the content of the original line, makes it more humane, and increases our pleasure in reading.
At the end of the full text of "Xici Zhuan", there are these few sentences: "The person who will rebel will be ashamed of his words; the person who is doubtful will use his words; the words of auspicious people will be few; the words of impetuous people will be many." , His words are false to those who are good, and his words are wrong to those who lose their guard. ?The translation is: ?A person who is about to rebel has shame in his words, a person who has doubts in his heart, his words are squeaky and twiggy, a gentleman speaks concisely, an anxious and radical person talks a lot, and the words that slander good people are free and rambling. , People who have lost their moral integrity and become traitorous speak in a roundabout way.
Integrating very profound life experience and strong human touch into the interpretation of the hexagrams and lines of the "Book of Changes" is the key to the "Book of Changes" being valued and passed down.
