The hometown of six ancestors, parks everywhere, "the capital of stones."

Recommended scenic spots
[Guo 'en Temple]
Yunfu is the birthplace of Huineng, the sixth ancestor of Zen Buddhism, and the place where he died.
Guo 'en Temple, the ancestral temple of Zen Buddhism in Lingnan where the Sixth Ancestor is located, has a history of 1300 years. As precious as this ancient temple are seven relics found under the pagoda of gratitude, which can be called "the treasure of Buddha's soul". Unfortunately, Guo 'en Temple was closed due to the epidemic, so I couldn't make it. The photo was taken in Yunfu Museum.
[Yunfu Panlong Cave]
A cave more than 170 million years ago is of great archaeological research value. As early as 1985, it has been developed into a scenic spot off-season ticket 35 yuan, including explanation service.
The sightseeing part of Panlong Cave is 528 meters long, which is named after the overall terrain trend is like a flying dragon. Because there are only three wonders in China and even in the world: the gem flowers in the cave, which is praised as one of the "three largest stone flower caves in the world" by the World Cave Association.
In addition, there are many natural bodhisattva-like stones in Panlong Cave.
[Yunfu Nanshan Forest Park]
It is the most famous comprehensive park in Yunfu, which integrates outdoor fitness, parent-child entertainment and leisure vacation. It is also a "land of geomantic omen", located behind Yunfu municipal government building, with excellent geographical location and free admission.
[Yunfu Panlong Tianhu Park]
It is the most accessible park in Yunfu City, located in the city center, next to Yunfu Bus Terminal. From a distance, it looks like a huge "bonsai" in this city.
The total area of the park is 6,543.8+0.8 million square meters, with nearly 4/5 being lake water, and the remaining 6,543.8+0.5 being divided into 25,000 square meters and 6,543.8+0.5 million square meters of green space and sightseeing trails. Although the area is not large, it is a very attentive landscape.
Yunfu Botanical Garden
It is a botanical garden in the true sense of "zero distance from the city", separated from Yunfu Daily by a wall.
It is not a traditional "garden", but a well-dressed mountain.
The plants in the park are divided into regions and landscapes, which are very suitable for walking, fitness and leisure.
Yunfu Botanical Garden has a planned area of 643 mu, which was still under construction the day I punched in.
[Yunfu People's Square]
Located on the bank of Nanshan River, next to Health Theme Park, opposite Yunfu Municipal Government and Nanshan Forest Park.
People's Square has the necessary supporting facilities of the city, children's play area and activity center for the elderly, which is the main place for Yunfu citizens to exercise and relax.
[Four Pavilions Little Square]
Located diagonally opposite the People's Square in Yunfu, Yunfu's cultural centers, museums, libraries and archives are all concentrated in this Little Square which covers an area of about 40,000 square meters. Just like "quadruplets", the colors are the same and the design style is the same.
There is also an open-air movie screening and one of Yunfu's most iconic stone sculptures: stone pumpkins.
sensitive
【 rice rolls of Zhenyun River Estuary 】
Time-honored brand in rice rolls.
Yunfu is the birthplace of rice rolls. Since the Tang Dynasty, Yunfu people have had rice rolls as their breakfast. In Yunfu, the most famous rice rolls is Hekou rice rolls.
Besides rice rolls, this store also sells many typical Cantonese dim sum.
Recommended: Hekou rice rolls, chicken feet, money belly, bean curd, Zhi Zhu beef balls, glutinous rice chicken, steamed spareribs and pig blood.
[For example, Guangdong]
A new Cantonese teahouse in Yunfu has a typical "morning tea mode" for ordering food: small point, middle point, large point, apex, special and super point. Every "point" is a price, step by step, and the waiter charges on the spot.
Recommended: crab roe roll, egg tart, walnut steamed stuffed bun and chicken feet.
[Liang Lao Milk Dessert Expert].
A traditional Cantonese dessert chain store sells typical Shunde sugar water.
Recommended: double skin milk.
[Takamura Tofu]
Yunfu's "local products" look like a baby's face, and the water content is more than other tofu I have eaten. This is not like eating tofu, but like eating a smooth stuffing cake.
All restaurants in Yunfu can order this dish, but there seems to be only one snack bar named after Gaocun tofu.
[Gao Feng Miso Wonton]
My local friends in Yunfu strongly recommended a shop to me.
The wonton soup in this house is very special and delicious, but it doesn't taste like chicken essence and other spices. It's really mellow and light. Yunfu people say that this family's wonton actually has no secret skills, relying on a fresh ingredient.
At first, it was just a small shop, but neighbors who repeatedly wandered around ate out several branches.
Recommended: wonton.
[Zhen 'an Liu Yi Soup]
Yunfu time-honored snacks.
The shop area is not large, only a few tables, two small windows selling food, chicken feet on the left and soup on the right.
Recommended: health soup, sour bamboo shoots and snails, chicken feet and zongzi.
【 Fengyi spiced beef offal 】
Located next to the Jinshan market in Yunfu, there are many food stalls nearby.
The beef offal in this house is delicious, slightly salty, affordable and worth eating.
Recommended: spiced beef offal.
[Liquan Herbal Tea]
When you arrive in Guangdong, you should drink herbal tea, which can relieve summer heat, remove grease and eliminate moisture.
This herbal tea shop is familiar, as if I had seen it on the street in Guangzhou. It is said that the boss is from Yunfu.
Judging from the information printed on the back of the package, the secret recipe of this herbal tea contains "non-legacy" skills.
Recommended: Herbal tea, Guiling ointment.
[seaweed roll in Mong Kok Pavilion]
A chain fast food restaurant with lively decoration style and young people as its main target customers.
Recommended: seaweed roll, milk tea.
[Jordan Road]
It is probably the largest milk tea chain store in Yunfu City.
Recommendation: Everything is fine. Real material, taste and taste pass.
[Li Tu in Tea Ceremony]
Personally, I like a Yunfu drink shop.
Elegant and clean decoration, neat and comfortable seats, fragrant tea and sufficient materials.
Recommended: longan tea.
stay
I live in Nanyang Yayuan, the only Loft apartment in Yunfu (2020) downtown. Located opposite Yunfu Bus Station, it is one of the few hotels in the city where you can see Beaulieu Lake immediately when you open the window.
I have lived here for more than a week, and many scenery overlooking Yunfu that I shared before were taken from this balcony.
postscript
Blue sky, white clouds, green trees, villages, streams and roads ... In the summer of Yunfu, people live a warm and peaceful life. A trip to Yunfu is like watching a Miyazaki Hayao movie.
Even if Yunfu is not a popular tourist city, I hope my travel notes can help you understand this small town, which is different from most cities in Guangdong, with its unique culture and the scenery of "other people's homes".
