The Origin of the Leaning Tower of Feng Liang

Feng Liang Wenta in Fengshun County, Guangdong Province is commonly called "Leaning Tower" because of its inclined body. It was initiated by Wang Qiyun from Anfu County, Jiangxi Province in the 25th year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (1820), with a history of 190 years. It is located in Niuguling on the right side of Fengxi River in Fengjing Village, Feng Liang Town, Fengshun County. The majestic pagoda reflects the superb level of architectural art at that time.

1982, when the China Academy of Sciences sent personnel to inspect the Feng Liang Venta, it was determined that the tower was tilted 5 degrees. The main reason for the tilt is that the clay ground in the southwest corner (in the direction of the tower gate) is fractured, sinking within the range of about10m in diameter, and the Liang Shi at the top of the tower gate is fractured. In April of 200 1 year, a reporter from Fengshun TV station went to retest and found that the tilt was 10 degrees. I didn't expect it to be as high as 5 degrees in just 20 years, which shows that the inclination of the leaning tower is caused by natural external forces.

After hundreds of years of earthquakes, flash floods and storms, the leaning tower of Feng Liang still stands. What is the reason? Now it stands on Niuguling Mountain with its unique charm and becomes a wonderful scenery.

This tower belongs to the category of "Feng Shui Tower", and 1988 was listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Fengshun County.
