Peng Jiamu disappeared mysteriously, and how many secrets was hidden in Lop Nur, the "Ear of the Earth"?

Lop Nur is located in the southeast of China's Xinjiang region. It was once the second largest inland lake in my country. And because this lake has very distinctive characteristics and looks like a human ear, it is also called the "Ear of the Earth".

The former Lop Nur has become a sea of ??sand, and it has merged with the mysterious Taklimakan Desert, so that not a single blade of grass grows. No matter what kind of plants are planted in this center, they all die one after another, so it is also called the "Sea of ??Death".

This mysterious phenomenon has attracted the attention of many scholars. What is the reason why Lop Nur is withered and not even a single plant can survive. As early as the last century, there was a famous biochemist in my country. He entered Xinjiang for investigation 15 times and finally disappeared in Lop Nur. This great scientist was Peng Jiamu. Peng Jiamu, born in 1925, is a Cantonese. He was very interested in bioastronomy since he was a child, and was admitted to the National Central University in Nanjing in 1943, majoring in agriculture.

After graduation, Peng Jiamu went to the School of Agriculture of Peking University to work as a teacher, specializing in agricultural chemistry. After the founding of New China in 1949, he was transferred to the Shanghai Institute of Biochemistry.

As an important researcher in the country, he actively joined the party organization in 1954. With his own efforts and sufficient professional knowledge, the organization has repeatedly proposed that he go abroad to continue his studies.

Unfortunately, he refused, and in 1956 he had the idea of ????going to Xinjiang to investigate. Peng Jiamu said, "I volunteered to go to the border. This was a long-cherished wish, and I had the courage to forge a bright path out of the wilderness."

He who had packed his luggage suddenly fell ill and was diagnosed with a malignant tumor. In desperation, Peng Jiamu returned to Shanghai for treatment, but his desire to go to Xinjiang did not change at all.

After his condition improved slightly, Peng Jiamu immediately planned the journey. He successively visited more than ten provinces and regions including Yunnan, Shaanxi, Guangdong, and Xinjiang, and had 15 inspection trips to Xinjiang. He directly made a huge contribution to the reconstruction of the Xinjiang Branch of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Not only that, he has also done a lot of research work for the development of plant viruses in my country and vigorously developed scientific research in Xinjiang. Peng Jiamu is also honored to be the vice president of the Xinjiang branch, and he will be quite promising in the future. Can be expected.

02 Entered Lop Nur twice

From March 5 to 30, 1964, a total of 25 days of investigation, Peng Jiamu and his team of workers surrounded Lop Nur. During the week, a large number of water samples and mineral specimens were also collected, and a simple study was conducted on the rivers that had entered Lop Nur Lake.

Through research, it has been proved that Lop Nur is a treasure land, and resources such as heavy water may appear in this place. We know that heavy water is an essential substance in the production of nuclear energy. In the 1960s, when my country was manufacturing nuclear energy, it had to spend a lot of money to purchase it from abroad.

As such an important substance, he, who was suffering from cancer at the time, took the initiative to volunteer to find natural heavy water for the country regardless of his physical condition. But the search time was too short, and in the end, nothing was found, so I had to return.

But Peng Jiamu's spirit moved the people across the country, and he was subsequently elected as one of the representatives of the National People's Congress. This time the Lop Nur expedition brought more mysteries to scientific researchers.

The second time we entered Lop Nur for investigation was in 1979, 15 years after the last time. The investigation lasted only five days and was recorded and filmed by Chinese and Japanese TV stations. As a consultant, Peng Jiamu not only filled in the shortcomings in the major research areas of this scientific investigation, but also found the ancient cemetery and entered Loulan. The road has restored the middle section of the ancient Silk Road.

This investigation experience directly established Peng Jiamu’s position in the entire scientific research work. Although I have entered Lop Nur for the second time, its mysterious veil is still tightly covered, and this sense of curiosity becomes more and more intense.

In 1980, Peng Jiamu entered Lop Nur again as the investigation captain. This time they plan to cross the Lop Nur Lake Basin, which is a total of 450 kilometers. This is the first time in history that they have crossed the lake.

On June 5, the investigation team, which had been traveling for 28 days, finally arrived at the end of the journey under the leadership of Peng Jiamu and successfully opened the gate of Lop Nur. After they stayed in Milan for 6 days, the entire team was almost rested and started planning to go back and forth.

They wanted to follow the ancient Silk Road, cross the entire region, and then go directly to Urumqi to complete the investigation work of more than two months, but the journey was really too long. .

All the gasoline and water brought by Peng Jiamu’s team have been basically consumed, but if it goes according to plan, there will still be 400 kilometers of distance left. So they discussed and decided to find the water source first. For the safety of his teammates, he braved the high temperature of more than 50 degrees to search for the water source alone.

Unfortunately, any information disappeared with this passing, and Peng Jiamu disappeared in Lop Nur. In order to find this scientist, the country sent out more than a dozen planes four times, and thousands of people searched for him. They did not give up even in the face of various harsh environments.

Unfortunately, there were no clues, and Peng Jiamu disappeared in this area silently. In the winter of 2005, a researcher discovered a male mummy while investigating in the Lop Nur area.

Everyone is wondering whether this is Peng Jiamu's body, but nothing on his body can confirm in detail whether he is the scientist who disappeared in Lop Nur. In fact, news of Peng Jiamu's body had been reported in many places before, but they were all conjectures.

In 2007, through various tricks, it was proved that the mummy was not that of Peng Jiamu. Regarding the disappearance of living people, some experts have given this explanation. Because it is in the desert, shifting sand dunes and strong winds may cause the remains to disappear.

As early as 1950, a police officer from the anti-bandit force disappeared. Thirty years later, a geological team later discovered his body hundreds of kilometers away from the accident site.

This is just the force of the sand dunes moving.

In today's age of advanced technology, Peng Jiamu's body has still not been found. Not only this problem, there are still many unsolved mysteries in the world, which seem to have no scientific basis.

Facing these doubts, Amao believes that we should not express our actions arbitrarily. At the same time, as a generation of young people, since these unsolved mysteries interest us in curiosity, we have the obligation to work hard to improve. I strive to solve these suspenseful mysteries.
