History of Wuchaomen Park

Wuchaomen Park Historic Wuchaomen Park is located at the northern end of Yudao Street, Zhongshan Gate, Nanjing. Named after the meridian gate of the Ming Palace in the south of the park. 1958, the location of Wumen and Fengtian Temple was turned into a park. Nanjing Ming Palace is the blueprint of the Forbidden City in Beijing. It is the first unified dynasty palace in Nanjing history, located on the north and south sides of Zhongshan East Road. After Qing Ji (Nanjing) was captured by Zhu Yuanzhang, the emperor of Ming Dynasty, it was changed to Yingtianfu. In order to be emperor, Zhu Yuanzhang "ordered Liu Ji and other places to be designated as new palaces", and finally selected this land as "middle plate" and "imperial house". According to legend, Zhu Yuanzhang recruited 200,000 military and civilian craftsmen to fill the Yanque Lake and "build a new city". The project 1366 was started and completed in one year.
