The legend of Jiufeng Mountain

Jiufeng Mountain is located in Houjiazhai Township in the northeast of zunhua city, and is famous for its "mountain name, ancient temples, strange trees, strange rocks, precipices and narrow cities". "Mountain Name": The 15th Arhat "Ashdod Venerable" once lived here; "Temple Ancient": Tianbao rebuilt Yun Xi Temple in Tang Dynasty and Daliao rebuilt it; Strange Tree: "Bai Ge", "Qi Songshi" and "Diamond Ginkgo" are amazing; The Stone Monster: "Eagle-turtle confrontation", "monkey worships Buddha" and "flying stone" are really strange; "Cliff": In the past, monks jumped off the cliff and "sacrificed their lives to become Buddhas", which has been passed down through the ages; "Narrow City": The narrowest part of the Great Wall of Yan State is 70cm.

Qiyun Temple is located in Jiu Feng Ridge. There are eighteen arhats, Sakyamuni, Guanyin Bodhisattva and other Buddha statues enshrined in the temple. There is a small temple under the cliff at the upper right of Qiyun Temple, which is dedicated to the master Huineng who jumped off the cliff and became immortal.

According to legend, there was a teacher and two disciples living in seclusion in Qiyun Temple at that time, and the younger disciple Huineng was kind and pious to the Buddha. One day, there was no food in the temple, and master wanted to take his brother out for alms. Huineng asked the master, "What shall I eat after you leave?" Master said angrily, "Burn your thighs and cook stones." After they left, Hui Neng set up a stove according to the teacher's instructions, filled it with well water, and lit his thigh with firewood in the fire until the water in the pot boiled, but his thigh was safe and sound. Instead, the rice is fragrant, the stone is soft and delicious like steamed bread. Master didn't believe me, so he tried it and broke two teeth. In a rage, he chased Huineng to the top of the central platform. Huineng fled to the top of the platform, watched a lotus flower float slowly, jumped off the cliff and rode away ... leaving a pair of shoes on it. Later people called China and Thailand "sacrificial platform" and built temples to worship.
