1. At the foot of Tianchi Ridge in the east of Shinan City, there is a lotus pond, surrounded by five peaks guarding it. According to legend, a long time ago, this place was a barren and scorched land with few people inhabiting it.
One year, there was a hunter named Tan Shunshan in Dongxiang, who went out to sell animal skins with his father. Just as they reached Tianchi Ridge, a strong wind suddenly came up, and Tan Shunshan was suddenly swept into the air. Later he opened his eyes and saw that he was lying on a soft mound. It was already midnight, the surroundings were dark, and Tan Shunshan was hungry and thirsty.
He climbed up with all his strength, and suddenly saw a light in the distance, which was golden and extremely dazzling. He ran to take a look and saw a large pond in front of him. The golden light came from the water, lighting up the surrounding mountains. Suddenly, a big lotus suddenly rose from the water, and the fragrant fragrance continued to float from the water. A forest slowly grew up on the originally bare mountains around it. After a while, the sky gradually grew brighter.
Tan Shunshan was surprised and happy, and hurried back to look for his father. After finding his father, he told him about the strange things he saw last night. The father hurriedly said: "This is the sacred lotus!" They returned to the mountains and quickly told the villagers about their encounter with the sacred lotus. Everyone invited their friends to go see the sacred lotus. Later, they felt that this place had spiritual energy, so they moved their family to the foot of Tianchi Ridge with some fellow villagers. People worked hard and turned this area into a land of fish and rice with abundant harvests.
This matter reached the ears of Mr. Yu in Shi Nan Mansion. The man thought: "If I bring this sacred lotus and offer it to the emperor, I will definitely get a high official." He hurriedly sent a few servants , disguised as a few common people, wandered to Tianchi Ridge and secretly picked lotus flowers in the dead of night.
The villagers were very anxious after missing the sacred lotus. They searched around for their whereabouts. Mr. Yu was afraid that the truth would be exposed, so he framed Tan Shunshan and his son, tied them up and threw them into the pond...
After that, there are different theories about the whereabouts of the sacred lotus. Some said that the sacred lotus turned into a ball of fire, burned Mr. Yu to death and flew into the sky; some said that the sacred lotus flew back to Tianchi. The ridge turned into five peaks, protecting the large pond.
People living near the large pond named their village "Lotus Pond" in memory of the sacred lotus. The five surrounding peaks have protected this sacred pool for generations. Since then, this area has become a land of plenty and abundant crops.
2. Below Suobuya is a land of fish and rice with beautiful mountains and green waters. Tujia people have farmed and worked here for generations and lived a life of plenty of food and clothing. This is today's Big Block Village.
A long time ago, there lived a thousand-year-old fish monster in the Sun River at the foot of the mountain. He heard that the village of Dadua was a good place. The meat here was delicious, the wine was delicious, and the girls were very beautiful, so he became a scholar and went to the village to see what was going on. The mountain people entertained him with a banquet. After tea and wine, the scholar happily told the mountain people a lot of anecdotes about the outside of the village. The mountain people listened with interest and even kept the scholar to stay longer.
The scholar wandered up and down the village all day long, paying special attention to the beautiful girls and wives. One night, it turned into a fishy wind, kidnapped the Tujia girl it had fallen in love with during the day, and took it to a cave for it to play with. When it had played with it enough, it swallowed it in one gulp. Women were missing from the village every day, causing people to panic. The adults cried and the children screamed. It was very miserable. The cry shook Fairy Rock.
It turns out that this fairy rock is the transformed body of the goddess of salt water. When the goddess saw that the fish monsters were attracting her descendants, she came up with a plan to transform herself into a very beautiful girl. She also built a house among the rocks in the middle of the flooded stream to live in. During the day, she dressed up in front of the mirror and sang sweet folk songs, which made the fish monster crazy and anxious. ?
One night, the fish monster took advantage of the darkness and turned into a gust of fishy wind and went straight to Yaomeizi's residence, hoping to kidnap Yaomeizi for his own entertainment. Then I thought that the Salt Water Goddess had been prepared. She raised her palm and dropped the fish monster into the water. She showed her true form and ran for her life in the water. When the Salt Water Goddess was about to kill the monster, she had another thought, why not leave it behind and teach the evil people in the world a lesson.
So I used my fingers to poke holes in the rock walls in the southeast and northwest of Yanshuitang, and the water in Yanshuitang flowed away from the cave. The fish monster cannot swim without water, and is stuck in the flooded stream and cannot move. Over time, they worked themselves to death. People who live here are all grateful to the fairies on Fairy Rock for eliminating harm to the common people.
