The inside of the Great Buddha Temple is laid out in a triple courtyard, with side rooms on the left and right, and the main hall in the middle, which is divided into the Songzi Hall, the Guanyin Hall, and the Thunder Goddess Hall. The stone statue in the temple is a 13.5-meter-high Guanyin statue. The main hall has a mountain-style roof with seven eaves, paved with glazed tiles, a treasure vase in the middle, owl kisses on the wings and corners, and a beam-lifting beam frame. The left and right wing rooms are of stone and wood structure, with a hard mountain-style roof, small green tile roof, bucket-type beam frame, and six pillars and four piercings. The entire mountain gate is built on the cliff, with a rigorous structure and majestic appearance.
The Shimen Buddha Temple is a seven-eaves mountain wooden structure building, which is a typical high-rise building in the Qing Dynasty in China. The legend of cliff statues
The first theory is that Lu Ban’s masters and disciples searched thousands of mountains and rivers, and finally selected this geomantic treasure land to build a Buddha, so that the Buddha statues would have aura.
In the second legend, the Buddha considered the difficult journey for pilgrims to make the pilgrimage, so he allowed the mountain spring seeping from the stone wall behind the Buddha statue to flow into the well at the bottom of the Buddha, so that it would be full all year round without overflowing. People who drink this water can keep safe, bring good luck, and eliminate diseases and disasters.
The third legend is the most magical. It is said that the Big Buddha is very efficacious, so the construction of the Big Buddha is different from other Buddha statues. The Buddha's body is filled with metals and grains, which can eat the fireworks of the world and relieve the people's wishes. "Jiangjin County Chronicle" records: "The Great Buddha Temple is a hundred miles away from the city, near the Shimenchang River. It is built on the ancient Buddha's Hand Rock, about ten feet high. There is a stone like a pure vase on the left, and a parrot on the right. The temple is built on the rock, as high as More than ten feet, which is the seventh floor of the building."
