Creative background:
In the 16th year of Guangxu (1890), Jin Wuxiang was appointed as Chixi Zhili Hall (merged into Taishan County in the Republic of China and now renamed as the city). Although it is a commission, an agent, not a full-time official, it is indeed a local official. During his tenure, Jin Wuxiang established Watou Jichuan Pavilion and Hehetang Baochi Hall, and signed articles of association and donated money.
In addition, the college has added ancient learning courses and donated cheap silver to reward students. He climbs mountains and rivers, explores historical sites, promotes scenic spots and advocates elegance. He has written two volumes of prose Chixi Magazine. Back in Dabanshan Village, Jiangyin, in the spring of the 23rd year of Guangxu (1897), Jin Wuxiang redeemed the inheritance originally sold by Gao Jinchang's family, and built a two-bedroom and one-lane building in Houyi, named Lu Tao, which is the home of the grandson of the book collection class.
Later, Jin Wuxiang moved his apartment from Jiangyin countryside to Changzhou. Besides traveling, visiting friends and attending classes, he also writes and engraves books. He has been pushed to participate in Changzhou government's cultural, educational, public welfare and charitable affairs many times. He was also employed by the authorities as the interviewer of Jiangsu Tongzhi Bureau, the prime minister of Changzhou Fuzhi Bureau and the editor-in-chief of Jiangyin County Archives Bureau.
After the Revolution of 1911, he lived in Shanghai. While engaging in poetry creation, he takes pleasure in buying books, collecting books, editing books and printing books. He spent a lot of money to collect ancient books, paintings and antiques, and displayed them in Su Xiang's study. In Jin Wuxiang's study, there are also authentic Shi Yinben by Su Dongpo, beautifully carved Nanhan Palace, Xuner, and 10 multi-faceted bronze drums, precious cultural relics of southern minorities.
