The cultural relic value of Yuan blue and white Xiao He Chasing Han Xin under the moon plum vase

This cultural relic is a rare treasure among the blue and white porcelain of the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. It has a very unique blue and white pattern, which reflects the extremely high level of firing. Plum vase is a funerary object in high-level tombs in the Ming Dynasty. It has the function of calming the tomb and warding off evil spirits. In addition to being a symbol of status, there are also feng shui considerations. Non-royal officials are not allowed to "enjoy" such funerary objects. This porcelain was unearthed in 1959 from the tomb of Mu Ying, the founding hero of the Ming Dynasty in Guanyin Mountain, Jiangning County, Nanjing. This plum vase is 44.1 cm high, 13 cm in diameter at the bottom, and only 5.5 cm in diameter. It has a small mouth, ample shoulders, oblique abdomen, narrowed shin, and flat bottom. It has a beautiful shape, rounded and smooth lines, graceful and luxurious, giving people a dignified aesthetic feeling. The story of "Xiao He chasing Han Xin under the moon" is engraved on the shoulders and abdomen. The blue and white patterns painted on the porcelain vase are multi-layered and very unique.

The "blue and white" pieces of the Yuan Dynasty are rare in the world. There are only more than 100 pieces in the country, and their value is inestimable. In 2005, the porcelain jar "Ghost Valley Down the Mountain" was auctioned for a sky-high price of 15.688 million pounds (approximately equivalent to 230 million yuan). As for "Xiao He Chasing Han Xin Under the Moon", the texture of the porcelain body and the color of the blue and white hair are superior, and the plot of the characters is realistic and lifelike. Moreover, there are only three blue and white plum vases like this in the world, and the other two have been spread abroad. They are smaller than this one, and their glaze color and decoration are not as exquisite as this one.
