China geomantic omen has an ancient origin and a long history. But before the Tang Dynasty, Feng Shui was only the patent of feudal emperors, and it was rarely circulated among the people. According to the oral tradition of the past dynasties, the ancient emperor summoned more than 3000 famous Feng Shui teachers from all over the country, and after screening, more than 300 people were left behind. Finally, 87 famous Feng Shui teachers were screened out and gathered in Beijing to write the essence of their respective studies and merge them into a book. One of them tried to steal the banned books, but he was found and beheaded. More than 86 famous teachers have compiled a book. At the end of the Tang Dynasty, Yang Gong took advantage of chaos to steal books. Then slowly spread among the people. Feng shui has been called "the art of emperors" since ancient times. For example, in the Tang Dynasty, the feudal dynasty implemented a strict control system for tricks, and Feng Shui was not allowed to spread privately among the people. For example, after Zhao Kuangyi succeeded to the throne, in the second year of Taiping (AD 977), he wrote: "Astronomy, physiognomy, six gentlemen, hunting armor, sansheng, Yin and Yang books are not allowed to be taught privately. If it is sealed, it will only be in January, and you will be sent to the official. If you don't send it outside the limit, you will be beheaded if you violate the imperial edict. Those who can sue will be rewarded with 100,000 yuan. " Therefore, geomantic omen was rarely circulated among the people at that time.
Yang Junsong, an official of Tang Nuo Zongchao, served as the director of Lingtai Land Bureau in Huang Chao. After attacking the capital, he came to Sanliao Village, Xingguo, Gannan, and taught with his disciples. It was only in southern Jiangxi (now Ganzhou 18 counties and cities) that the Kan language began to spread among the people, and then gradually spread to Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hunan, Zhejiang and other provinces, and then spread to the whole of China.
During the long historical development, many schools of geomantic omen have formed in China. Among the five major arts in China, Feng Shui is the largest. According to incomplete statistics, there are now more than 300 feng shui schools with public names. Each school has different characteristics in terms of theory, terminology and operation methods, and the perspective of viewing and analyzing Feng Shui is also different. Of course, some of them are named after their own things for their own fame, and there are many signs of "some feng shui". Looking closely at the content, there is no complete theory and operation system, which is basically a hodgepodge.
